Li'l red wagon

Li'l red wagon has a summer fun days challenge.
I've made a birthday card featuring ice creams.
They remind me of summer days at the beach or as kids, playing in the street.
I didn't have enough ice cream paper to go right across so I teamed it with the aqua striped paper.

Frilly and Funky

The challenge at Frilly and Funky is air mail.
When sorting through I found a set of Air mail envelopes so decided to use one on this card.
It became the second layer of 5 and provided contrast for the neutrals that followed.
I added cream lace along the edge of the patterned paper then added my sentiment and finally a cloth "stamp" featuring a biplane.
I'm imagining someone overseas in the 1920s sending this back to their sweetheart.

Perhaps it was Phryne Fisher and Inspector Jack Robinson.

Stick it down card challenge

June Card Sketch

This is the card sketch at Stick it down.
My card is taller and thinner but I've made it almost the same otherwise.
Because it had a silver background I thought the "money" paper was appropriate.

It is a Father's Day card as here in Australia, it is in September.

The Male Room & TIOT

The Male Room want us to be inspired by a movie.
Try it on Tuesday wants a male card.

I was inspired by an old movie named To kill a king.(2003)

To Kill a King.jpg
It is about King Charles 1 and Oliver Cromwell.
This statue in Trafalgar square features King Charles 1 and the other picture is an old building with the Union Jack flag.

The person I have in mind for this card loves history, so it will go down well with him.

Case this sketch & Fusion

My card for Case this sketch couldn't be any more simple if I tried.
Here's the sketch.

I wanted a wedding card that was pure white and simple.

The mauve shadows are reflections from the scanner. My silver cake embellishment is magic
mounted on the card.
I'm entering this also at If you give a crafter a cookie.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Next is my entry for Fusion

I used the colours and the sketch to create a card with bright colours.
One of the 2 flowers I had to hand draw and colour with my zig markers.
Hope you like it!

Cute card Thursday & Seize the Birthday

The theme at Cute card Thursday is circles.

And at Seize the Birthday it is Anything goes.

I ferreted out 2 spotted papers to create this card for my neighbour who loves red.

Rochelle Spears and Unstampabelles

This is the Rochelle Spears jumpstart challenge sketch.

We are asked to use chevron paper as well. There are 2 lots on here, the green and white piece vertically going down, and a finer pale green one on the right.

I've used up my Counterfeit kit on this layout.(My last for the month).
I wanted it to be special as it was from a wedding I intended and these are special friends.

Also at Unstampabelles the want flowers and bling.
I've fussy cut around the flowers and butterflies and mounted some on pop dots to make them stand out.

The bella bling flourish runs across the bottom of the photos.
Did you notice my tag had been embossed with dots to match the background paper?

The heart under the left hand photo is from my November St Tropez kit and says simply lovely.
The cream tag says forever in love with you and is also mounted on pop dots.
There are 2 strips of washi tape running down the right hand side.

Cardz4guyz

At cardz4guyz they want metal.
I've chosen the closest thing I had to metal which is a silver glitter frame.
I've made a father's day card for Dad using geometric papers plus gold striped washi ape and the silver frame.

Feeling sketchy

At Feeling sketchy last challenge I was a TOP PICK

My card was one of 3 runners up.

Now on to the new challenge.

Looks interesting!

I went textural with this and everything on here is from my June Counterfeit Kit.
The background is Fabric paper The strip down the middle has white velour and the lace.
The sentiment is embossed and the enamel dots finish it off.
Hope you like it!

AS you like it challenge

As you like it challenge has a favourite shape card and explain why.

I've made a teapot card
The fold is at the top. I enjoyed making this as it involved fussy cutting and decorating the pot as well. It is perfect for a shower tea gift or as a thank you to a hostess.

The paper girls challenge

The theme at Paper girls challenge is bicycles.
I've been inspired by Heather and made 3 tags using scraps.
Next month at Counterfeit kit challenges there is a vintage vibe so 2 of them will add to the kit.
(forget you read that immediately!)

Here's my tags.

Scrap our stash

The second challenge is a blend a sketch at Scrap our stash.
I've mainly used the second sketch but used the title block idea top centre and a strip right across the layout as in sketch #1.
My photos are of St Paul's Cathedral in London. The grand old lady of buildings that has survived fires and bombings to rise above all others.
I had some star patterned paper plus a sports themed paper from Bella which featured the #1  title card, as well as the other All star/think big sub title and the star strip.
I used star background paper, star strip and gold stars in my clusters (among the crowns and the flair.)

4 crafty chicks and Cardz4guyz

At 4 crafty chicks they want birds and blooms.
This worked out well for me as I had this die cut featuring 2 birds on a pine branch.
I used a border punch to back it and added 2 stars in the corners. My background s dark to provide contrast. Some ladies like more subdued colours so I'm sure this will be used.

Next at Cardz 4 guyz they want fathers day cards.
I found a patterned paper scrap featuring whales, clouds and rainbows and thought it was appropriate for a small child to give to their daddy.
I've used 2 of those end strips from patterned paper on here.

Friday 15 June 2018

Freaky fast Friday.

I arranged my papers down the right hand side and slightly overlapping.
I used a Webster's paper as my background.

The banner across the bottom plus the washi tape strip and the Heidi Swapp overlay "Remember" are all extras. Similarly is the journaling block.

The story behind this was a trivia night about Music which was on our European River cruise 2 years ago. People were asked to get up and jive to get extra points. One of the other ladies and I became so tangled up that we had a fit of the giggles, hence the photo.

Crazy for Cas

At Crazy for Cas we are asked to scraplift this card

Despite it being a Stamping Up blog , I've decided to join in just for fun.
I re-used some packaging so the sides covered in paper contained print.
This is why my background is striped, not plain.

My baby boy cards always sell well.

The Male Room and Daring Cardmakers

I have two cards here.
The first is for the Male Room where they want cards for little boys.
My card is for an older boy, hence the crossword puzzle paper.
I have used a gold (not black) transparency with XOXO on it.
There are also two rows of washi tape plus 3 enamel shapes as well as the word wish.

A neighbour has a boy turning 10 soon and I made it with him in mind.(still little in my eyes).

My second is for Daring Cardmakers and this started with orange paper too.
(In fact it is the flip side of the crossword paper.)

I also found paper featuring pineapples and matched it with a 3D pineapple sticker.
I also added a tropical looking leaf I had plus 3 lime green enamel dots.

Scrapbookit

Image result for pagemaps sketches

Scrapbookit has this sketch plus we need to use 2 of the following.

Washi, watercolour, stamps , stencils.

I added some water to my candy coloured acrylic paint and covered the bottom right hand corner.
This will be where my journaling will go.
There are 2 lots of washi across the middle square (dominoes) and as part of the decoration top right.

I recently spent a weekend to catch up with the  Purplescraps ladies. These are 3 of the photos of us.
I've also used striped "fabric paper" which I have had for years, plus a clear overlay from Heidi swap for my title.
I also added wood veneer spectacles to match Emily's and 2 gold flower stickers for layering.

Mystical sketch challenge

This is the layout  for Mystical scrapbooks.
Our challenge was to use lace across the middle, which I have done. It was lace from my sister's wedding dress in 1973.
I've also used a FWAB pearl swirl that I bought from Mystical plus the green paper.
I'm liking the combo of pink and aqua and the similar spotty patterns.

Freshly Made sketches

I've used the last of the black gingham paper from my kit for this card.
It is for Freshly Made sketches.

Instead of having a contrasting strip down the centre I used gold washi tape to define the design and a chandelier with bling as my centrepiece.
This will be an engagement card.

Wednesday 6 June 2018

Cardz4guyz and 4 crafty chicks.

http://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/ wants Fathers Day cards.

I've made a tie card,(my first.) for this challenge and will also enter it at 4 crafty chicks where anything goes.

Sketchy Boards challenge

On Facebook is a challenge named Sketchy Boards.
This month there is a colourscheme and sketch.

In my Counterfeit kit was a Kaisercraft Sea Breeze collection paper that looked like this.

By flipping it over to the B side, I get aqua wood grain.
I fussy cut around the flowers so that they overlapped the strips of paper.
I cut the doily in two and added my photo of Notre Dame Cathedral . Next I added the black chipboard swirls from Bella, then decided it needed the pearl FWAB as well.
I added a flair that says Discover plus my title.

Here it is! The clock on the challenge says Paris, subconsciously I scrapped a layout of an iconic Paris landmark without making the connection.

Jump start sketch at the scrap room

The Jump start sketch at The scrap room is this

I had a paper in my Counterfeit kit which looked like a handkerchief ,so that was my starting point.

I misted the top left and bottom right with green and gold mist. Next, I stamped a large circular flower over the top.

I've used another Kaisercraft Class of 87 crossword paper. This became the contrasting background for my 3 photos. Each were matted with green. I used the garland from my kit to provide the horizontal line for my pictures
.
We hired a golf buggy in Hamilton Island to drive to the lookout.

Little Red Wagon

At Little Red wagon this week they want Shabby Chic.

I'm attending a baby shower in a few weeks and they already know it is a boy.
I've made a shabby chic baby boy card for the little chap.
The cream lace was from my mother's lace collection so definitely vintage.

On an Angle at Paper Issues.

I was inspired by Lisa's layout in last month's challenge

and Paper Issues has a challenge this month to put it on an angle.

So choosing my favourite aqua tones, I constructed this layout featuring an angle with the papers.

I used the Bella chipboard swirls which makes a good contrast to the pale greens and also some vintage lace I've had for years. There is also a Bramble fox flair and a shimmery gold heart.

June Counterfeit Kit

The June Counterfeit kit comes from https://www.hipkitclub.net/may-2018-main-kit

It looks like this.
That's lots of summery tones right there.

I started by matching papers to those in picture 3.
I had spectacles, pink hexagons, an apricot and yellow paper, black and white striped, soft pinks, aquas and black & white.so this has been formed by colour matching and in some cases pattern.

Next came my embellishments.
I found matching washi tapes in pink, aqua, black, gold, and silver.
There was also a garland made from gold, pink and grey circles.

I also added these

For my alphas this month, I don't have gold.
I do have silver which will match well and I will add other colours as needed.

(Excuse my photos, it is winter here and difficult to find a sunny spot for photography.)

A big welcome to Alice our guest designer for this month.
Now here is the order of the blog hop.
