Junk journal continued

Here's more junk journal pages I've done.

There is no rhyme or reason for my pages in this junk journal however I am using up lots of scraps and trying out different ideas. For example, in this lot there are altered playing cards plus embossing and the corset shape using brads and embroidery cotton.

Challenge yourself and Soul Scrappers This and That.

I'm combining 2 challenges with this layout.

Firstly, at Soul Scrappers they have a this or that challenge. I did the yellow side.

Secondly, this is for the last ever Challenge YOUrself. I'm going to miss it because I've been doing their challenges for a long time (10 years ??). I would like to thank all the team for their hard work and inspiration. Sharon in particular has been friendly and reliable.

That brings me to my layout which is a photo of me and the room maid on my cruise. Eve was wonderful and I appreciated her. I called my title Hello and goodbye as we often passed in the corridoor so I'd say hello. On the last day I said goodbye.

Time out challenges

At time out challenges we are asked to pick two. I've made a card to wish friends a nice summer holiday.

I used sun and ice cream.

Little red wagon

This time, Little red wagon wants outdoors. Here's my first Christmas card for this year.

I used a piece of paper that had plant stems on it. I then stamped reindeers near the bottom to look like they're in a forest. I added a brown strip and 3 die cut reindeers across the top.

The Scraproom throwback sketch

Here is the throwback sketch.

I chose a navy paper plus a neutral background with a floral pattern that is subdued.

My photos are bigger, so I used one portrait in full size and 2 cut to a square. They are 3 more view of inside the ship. These were the last 3 I had on my desk to scrap.

I used a tan coloured cotton that matches the walls in the photos and stitched top and bottom. I made the tag featuring the pineapple sticker on the side.Underneath the navy paper I have overlapped 3 stickers featuring leaves and a cool drink.

After doing my journalling, my layout is done.

Colour challenge at the scraproom.

This is the colour challenge at the Scrap room.

I've decided to scrap a heritage photo.I started with a light green patterned paper then cut a smaller piece of white and purple stripes to  put on top. I distressed the edges and used pinecone ink to age it. My next layer was an old dress pattern piece, which I also distressed.

I matted my photo on bottle green

Next, I worked on my title. I found most of my letters except the H and R so had to cover purple letters in yellow paper then cut out the shapes with a knife. Messy business!

I also wiped pinecone ink around the title paper and the H and R so it wasn't so bright. I put 2 strips of darker ribbon across the bottom then added a few neutral tags to the right of the photo. I added a random button I had lurking. I punched a border strip with gold card then wound brown embroidery thread around the punched border. Lastly, I added a couple of staples to hold the torn corners back.

Sketches in Thyme and FUN

Here is the next sketch for Sketches in Thyme

I used neutral papers for my base layers. There is dressmaking pattern tissue as one of my layers, plus the photo mat.

The flowers are part of the Art Stacks bundle I bought. I thought they match well with the colours on the photo. The 2 crochet shapes are cut from an old doily.

I used the title Happy as I found something to keep me happy in the library on board ship.

I'm also putting this up for the FUN layout on The scraproom group.

F=flowers

U=under layers

N=neutrals

Sketch and scrap

Here is the June sketch for Sketch and scrap

I used offcuts from the previous layout on my card, which could be for a male.

The papers are from Rusty Pickle and the sentiment from Kaisercraft Rosabella.

My sentiment says Life is better with you in it.

I've also entered this at The Paper Players

Jumpstart sketch plus colour challenge

This is the jumpstart sketch at The scraproom group.

This is the colour challenge at Soul Scrappers.

I decided to combine the two. I used 2 photos from my cruise matting them on neutral paper. Next, I cut 2 triangles for my corners. After gluing them I added washi tape strips. Next, I put them on the layout and cut chipboard chicken wire to size. I put it through my Xyron.to make it sticky. After adding those to my layout I used pearls and rhinestones plus small hexagons in the chicken wire plus scattered on my layout. My title is in 2 colours silver and copper to ensure I had enough letters. I added a blue star on a toothpick and my short journalling and it is done!

Freaky fast formula

I've made a layout today, the first in a week.

Yesterday I won some charms from Charms creations so use one on here. I put the circle, doiley flower and felt stitched arrow in a cluster. The wood veneer heart I separated and put it near the top of my layout. I used 2 of the 4 papers as my mats and another for the journal block.

I've also done a couple more junk journal pages.

On this one I used a corner pocket and punched flowers.

This one features mini envelopes and an altered tag. It is on the theme of mail.

This one features an opening mini folder ,closed on the first picture and open below showing some tags I added

More junk pages

Here are some more of my pages and no particular reason I did them. Most of these seem to feature a vintage theme.

Junk Journal fun.

I bought this kit from Artstacks to give it a try. I've long been an admirer of Lisa Oxley.

I recently started a Junk Journal so here are the pages I made with this kit.

Junk journal paper bag conversion.

I started with a small bag from the donut shop.

Next, I glued muslin on the top of it.

Then I edged it with antique lace making a frame. I added paper across the frame and added smaller tags

I glued it to the left-hand side of the page.

In the top pocket (bag) I put a matching tag.

The tag top peeks out of the pocket

Tic tac toe (again)

After making the last card, I realized I missed the cut off point for that challenge. This is the current one.

I chose to go across the middle row. I used gold cardstock then added a yellow spotted paper. I made another embossed piece of card and added fine pearls. My sentiment says it's the little things that count.

tic tac toe

My 85-year-old neighbour (a widow) met a man last year and has now announced her engagement.

I felt I needed to give them a card.

Using my cuttlebug, I put some card through to make a script embossing. I inked it with opera pink Versa Colour. I added a strip of that on my pink background. Next, I added a flower strip and my sentiment. All this is on gold card, so it looks extra special for the occasion.

Sketches in Thyme #710

This layout is for sketches in Thyme.

My daughter wanted to find her school reports. I searched the house but couldn't see them.

She looked in the garage and threw out quite a lot while searching (hooray). They were found eventually in a box. I used black as my background with ferns instead of flowers. I added bling to my title to add a bit more colour.

************************

I used a scrap of leftover paper to make this card for Make my Monday.

They want flowers.
