steampunk elegance layout.

 

I'm combining 2 challenges with this layout.

The first is for Paper Issues where they want cosy layers. I had put a few neutral colours in my kit so used those on my layers. There's 5 layers plus embellishments.

The other was for the scraproom using the Bless letters.

B=buttons,blue,brad

L=lace, layers

E=embroidery cotton

S=Steampunk

S=sewing.

I've used a range of papers named Eastern Journey It has a vintage travel feel.

 Here's the actual kit which I felt didn't inspire me much.

It's not Thanksgiving in Australia nor is it Autumn.

Fringing.

 This morning I revisited an old layout of mine.

I was actually looking for a fringed feather that I know I made but can't find. 

This one is based on this sketch

I chose a photo of the orchids on my kitchen windowsill and used lilac colour scheme to match.

Along the bottom I have fringed under the washi tape strip. I also fussy cut some Mintay flowers which I used in place of the feather on my first layout. I haven't given it a title. The photo speaks for itself.

So batty layout.

 I used 4 sheets that were 6x6 to create my background.

I kept the central area plain by using white matting for my photos. The quote was ideal for this layout. My daughter certainly has her own style.

I mixed white and a little bit of ochre paint then painted through a mask to get the 2 arrows.

I had to photograph this then edit on my phone, but it is much straighter in real life. 

I'm entering this at Stencil Fun challenges. as it qualifies.

I chose this one for 2 photos of a friend and I having breakfast. Our particular favourite at that restaurant is corn fritters.

Here's the layout I did.

I actually stamped the vines in 2 areas.

CKC challenge #1

 Challenge #1 at CKC is to use pink or purple on an autumn layout.

On this layout there are pink foxes on the washi tape.

Now here's my layout which also includes 2 different ribbons down the sides and a bicycle tag I made myself.

Soul scrappers double sketch.

 One of the challenges at Soul Scrappers was a double page sketch challenge.

Still using my Counterfeit kit papers, this time in browns, I matched 2 sides as best I could.

Here's page one

I used paint through a stencil to create my title. I cut out a tiny train picture from an old picture dictionary. I added a ticket with some journalling. The plain brown ribbon goes across both pages.

Here's page two

I didn't have any more of the leafy paper so used brown cardstock. For the middle section I used a wood veneer paper. I put tan paper next to the title on the other page and again used plain brown ribbon.

I added 2 other tickets stapled under the photo of me. I added a pink section saying best friends and a tab with the location.

I used Christmas colours on a tall card.

Counterfeit kit greens

 

I recently met up with a scrapper I haven't seen for about 10 years. Jan and I shared stories and remembered the early days. Here we are in 2015.

I made this layout using more greens from my kit. I also added laces plus washi tape and tiny branches from my set of alphas. The tag with these days on it is the last one from Chapter One set from Kaisercraft.

I'm using more green papers from my Counterfeit kit stack.

I started with a colourful base paper.I matted 2 small photos

There is no border

I've used 3 tags. One for the title and 2 for journalling

I also used word stickers

I had no enamel dots so used sequins

Catch up post

 My blogger has been out of action for a month or so. I'm catching up with my counterfeit kit first.

Here's the kit we are basing it on.

Now here's what I put together.

I kept to autumn tones even though it is Spring here.

I added stamps with natural themes instead of stickers etc.

Cardz 4 guyz

 One last card for today. This one is for Cardz 4 Guyz.

The theme is Autumn colours. I had some yellow scraps on my desk which work on the orange card. Then I fussy cut the pumpkin and 3 acorns and adhered them to my card. I think it will work well for a gardener I know.

Christmas cards all year round

 At Christmas cards all year round they are working on letters R and S.

I found 2 light silver metallic reindeers so glued them on to a reindeer background paper card. The green strip across the bottom works as grass for them to stand on and also contains the sentiment.

Christmas or not BINGO challenge.

 Our theme is always anything goes with the featured BINGO card. Choose one letter in the word BINGO and use at least three items in that column on your project. You must state in your blog post the column and the specific items used. This is not your typical BINGO card where you go up and down, left and right and diagonally. To make this more fun, you can only go up and down using the columns. There is a FREE space in each column that you are welcome to utilize if you'd like. You cannot mix and match columns - you can only use one column under one letter. The new bingo board is found at the end of the inspiration section.

I found a new card blog and am making a card using column I.

I used a kraft and red striped paper, I made a banner or garland by cutting triangles in another matching striped strip of paper. I also added a wooden snowflake and a vellum sentiment. 

So that makes Christmas, stripes, garland and free. 

Try it on Tuesday and shopping our stash.

 At Try it on Tuesday they want us to use pretty papers.

I found more Christmas papers that work together using the colours red and yellow. The background is yellow with festive stars and spots. The border strip of gingham toned in perfectly. Finally the santa paper that spells out Christmas makes my top layer.

I'm also entering this at Shopping our stash where they want people. There's plenty of Santa people there to qualify! 

Sketch and scrap snowflake card

 Yesterday I made a card for Atlantic Hearts and now this one for Sketch and scrap is very similar.

Here's my card. I used mulberry paper as my backing for the snowflake, so it was hard to cut and arrange it. I chose a smaller mitten wood veneer for the other embellishment.

Here's me in Pompei looking unhappy. It was about 100 degrees that day. I am VERY thankful that I can travel and enjoy seeing new places.
