Moving along with the times

A sturdy box came my way recently so I decided to cover it and use it for chocolates.

I chose some bright Christmas paper and covered the box. (I even mitred the corners!)
Around that I used 2 rows of washi tape, then I found a gold pointsettia to glue on the top.

Inside I will put some chocolates and will give this to a neighbour who has been kind to me.

More than words and Path of positivity.

I've made a Christmas card in gold tones for More than words December mini challenge.

I misted the Scrapmatts sleigh in gold and the peace on earth chipboard in olive green.
The gold corrugated cardstock made a great background for my braid.
It slipped in the scanner but has been glued in place now.

I'm also entering it at Path of positivity where their theme is also peace.

Lasting Memories Christmas Roots challenge

Here's my layout for Lasting Memories.

It features our whole family at Mum and Dad's house in around 1982 I think.
I made the plaid and lace rosette and painted then sanded the alphas and frame.
The elf paper made a good border and the strips of green ribbon beside the photos add some order as well. It might not be noticeable but I also splashed walnut ink on my background to age the paper slightly.

Li'l red wagon

Li'l red wagon wants bells.

I've made 3 Christmas tags using paper tole.

I fussy cut out the characters. The background tags were dipped in walnut ink to create the mottled effect. Next, I used magic mount between the layers to make my picture 3D.
I added my sentiments and bottle green ribbon (not seen in photo).

Lasting Memories Christmas tree.

Lasting memories wants either mittens or a Christmas tree.

I've had this beautiful Websters pages Christmas tree for quite a while.
It suited this layout.

Every year the big department store in Sydney decorates its windows.
It is a favourite with children and adults alike. I made the chipboard ladder match the one in the photo by misting it with a rust colour.
I decorated the branches on the tree with small ornaments to make my layout more festive.

At the scraproom group on Facebook they are having a stash challenge and you need to use the letters in Santa.

December Freaky fast formula.

At The Scraproom here is the FFF challenge.

I used mainly browns and reds to match my photo.
The 1/4 " x 12 and 1/2 " x 12 meant I could use 2 of those strips across the bottom of papers. Yeah!!!

Here's my layout.

I went slightly overboard with the red ricrac ,but I like the finished look.
The plaid brad was a last minute find.

Whimsical Musings #340

There is a colour palette at Whimsical Musings.
It is basically an autumn palette but can be interpreted any way we want.

My background paper is Paper Inklings and is brown with a slightly blue marble effect.
I used a large red doily, then yellow backing paper. I put 5 spots either side of the 3 photos using my dottariffic pen.I had white and brown floral bracket which I layered beside my title.
The title is made from a variety of alphas.I added 2 wood veneers and enamel dots as a final embellishment.

Try it on Tuesday

At Try it on Tuesday they want a card inspired by a song.

My sentiment says it is beginning to look a lot  like Christmas.
I've used a scrapbook paper which features gold flecks down one side.
I added thin washi tape with holly plus 3 gold rhinestones.
 ***************************************************************************
Next, I have used 3 snoopy stickers I had left to make a small Christmas card for a boy who lives nearby.

I mounted 2 stickers on brown paper and used a scalloped edge with gold ribbon as my snow bank.
I then found a circular tag looking like a bauble and hang it from the bottom.
I haven't put a sentiment as the boy is too little.

I'm entering it in Christmas with the Cuties -Santa hats
