Big News card

I'm hooked on the negatives from Scrapmatts chipboard and keep creating cards using them. This is my latest effort which also used up a set of alphas i've had for ages...very economical am I. The card is for a friends daughter who has a job with Collette Dinnigan after training in Fashion design.

Sketches with a twist

My layout features 2 photos of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.I've used 3 identical orange photo corners plus a variety of other embellishments including crochet doileys from the chip chop shop. The song came to our mind as soon as we arrived...you can't see the tower without thinking about Galileo standing up there.

White with 1 and Kraft

My scrap bag plus 7gypsies steampunk stamps provided most of this.
Kraft comes in several subtle colours depending on the brand,so I used the subtle texture(with my cuttlebug) and colour differences on this layout.
The centre is an altered CD with cotton doiley. The clock stamps on the circles, the eye chart, the hand pointing, the long tape measure and Do not disturb are all stamped.
The crackle cream/white strip was cut off another layout's mat.
I've used Scrapmatts
chipboard federation frame and 4 corners.
I finished it with white and wooden buttons, plus asterisks from the lettering set.

From Screen to scrap in a new car

The challenge this month was to use white with just a touch of blue.I used a Ruby-Rock-it circular page with a blue border, misted over a doiley with turquoise, then used the same doiley on the layout. I've also used a book page saying "Chapter Two" as this is Erica's 2nd car.The lace underneath the photo is a frilly collar taken from a child's dress and sewn over the blue.A journalling box,a few embellishments and voila!
By the way to obscure the number plate I used the "eraser tool" which i still haven't mastered.

Artastic on a tropical Island

Erakor Island is in Vanuatu. We took a boat trip there for the day.The photo reminds me of a travel brochure.I've made a palm tree using scrapmatts ferns which I misted then while wet printed the extra palm leaves on to the paper.I criss crossed the edge of the ink pad to achieve the palm tree effect. My embellishments are a jug of pineapple juice and 2 scrapmatts birds(we can pretend they're seagulls). One of the papers also features a swimming costume. The crochet doileys are from The chip chop shop.Hope you like it!

Kraft it up and happy family

For Kraft it up this month it was a recipe challenge.
1 piece Kraft
2 photos
3Word title
4 Pieces patterned paper and
5 embellishments
First, I added visual texture by using a dotariffic pen and a border.
For my title I cut words from a chipboard saying "They lived happily ever after" to get my 3 words(With my family in mind).I matted the photos(2 pp.) then used strips to form a criss cross at the bottom. My embellishments are the 2 chipboard flowers, the circle with numbers, the flower and the orange ribbon.

Saturday 10 March 2012

Here's my latest creation! I've used Scrapmatts extensively on this layout/sampler.After seeing something similar in this month's Scrapbook Creations magazine,I decided to get busy on a similar mosaic.I've used my 2 inch punch and pinecone ink mainly, with a bit of hand cutting. This may end up as a canvas on my scraproom wall.

Thursday 8 March 2012

let's get shabby strawberries and hearts.

Strawberry and custard flans and tarts are one of my favorites.I used basic grey chipboard pieces featuring strawberries,a punched heart plus a Lucy& Sam heart button. For my background papers I've used 2 Christmas papers from my stash plus a large doiley. The green and mainly red go with the topic then the pink letters add another dimension to the strawberry theme.

Discover at Bird is the Word

This Discover layout was set at Edinburgh castle.I wanted to keep the ephemera.I've used a kit from What is old is new again.

Scrap the boys

Scrap the Boys requires a layout using "Life is good",the colour red and hand journalling. Here is my interpretation.I photographed the 2 boys playing with a tennis ball at low tide on the river. They called it a big puddle, hence the title.I've used Heidi Grace chipboard elements down the sides of the photo, some of them are scarlet(red) in colour. They also feature Life is good spelt out on the tags.

Stuck?! and a male layout

She is focused is based on this week's stuck?! sketch.I used a kit I won recently on FS2S plus 2 photos of my cousin ,Pat.She exercises daily and in this case ran along the beach.

Big boyz toys is one for scrapmatts and features Pat's 2 sons. One has bought an antique motor bike and as you can see is very proud of it.I've used the gear frame and page border and thought this background paper is very appropriate with tyre marks over it.
