Scrapping Outback and CHallenge YOUrself

The challenge at Scrapping outback is to use these colours plus a piece of chipboard.
I've used a large chipboard scalloped circle around my main photo, which I distress inked with black soot.
The challenge at Challenge Yourself is

I've combined the 2 challenges.
The word "Thankful" is in my journaling .
I was happy to see Lake George in flood last week when I drove to Canberra. The country around there has been so dry over the past few years so farmers will love the extra water lying around.
This thought was the inspiration for my layout.

Shopping our stash & others

Shopping our stash wants "Warm and Fuzzy" this week

I've tidied my craft room and put away quite a pile of bits and pieces.
In that process I found this picture of a squirrel.
Coming from Australia, we still think of them as cute. I always wanted to cuddle a squirrel.

I used quite a few layers including mulberry paper and vellum. It is in autumn colours too.

https://craftingbydesigns.blogspot.com.au/ wants little animals.
https://creativecornerchallenges.blogspot.com.au/ has anything goes

Woodland cards

I've made 2 cards for men using items from my Counterfeit kit.
The fox and deer, plus the tags with gesso design, and the gold pearls are from my kit.
I'm now at the "Stash busting" stage

Simon says stamp plus one

Here are today's 2 cards.
My first is for Simon says stamp where they want a trio or 3 of something.
I'm partial to reindeers at Christmas so I used 3 reindeers along the top of this card.
If you look closely you will see the parent reindeers on the background paper.
This is the last paper from this month's Counterfeit kit.

My second is another Christmas card.
I layered the felt and burlap hearts with puffy stickers.

Pointsettia card and Mojo Monday

If you are reading this please comment!!

I bought this Christmas paper years ago, but could never work out what to do with it.
It has texture on its own.
I've made a large card and added a row of brown stitching.
There is also a tiny stamped image saying Merry Christmas.

Then, using the same background paper, I made this card for Mojo Monday

Here's their sketch

Cardz4Guyz and Pink Gem challenges

At Cardz4Guyz the theme is reindeer.

I've had this cute AtoZ scraplets reindeer for a while, so decided to paint it red and pop it on the card.

My friend's hubby is named Noel so I always send her a noel card. This is for them.

*******************************************************************************
At Pink Gem Challenge I have used another reindeer.
They want ribbon and bling.
I used 2 rows of satin ribbon featuring Santa and Reindeer.
I made a co-ordinating tag and highlighted the card with green pearls.

Daring cardmakers and shopping our stash.

At Daring Cardmakers this week they want a gift bag or box.
I made a bag for my great niece who is 10.
Can you guess her 2 favourite colours?
The heart has a layer of felt and hessian. I punched the top of the bag with a lacy border punch.
It will contain some small flat items like hair clips, etc.

************
At Shopping our stash this week they want us to use left over pieces from our desk.
I started with a grid which was the outline of a set of letters.
Next I have cut a tag from an old Christmas card and put a short length of twine through it (also on my desk).
I then glued a wood veneer star and 3 smaller stars from a pack of puffy stickers.
Lastly, the sentiment "Totally Rad" was from one of those strips at the bottom of pattern papers.
Here is my very economical card.

Tuesday taggers

The challenge this week at Tuesday taggers is "trees are green or any other colour.

As it happened, I had a small template which was tree shaped.
I inked through it repeatedly using black distress ink.
This produced an interesting background "forest".
Next, I've used white liquid pearls to make the garlands (tinsel) on the trees.
Finally, I had a puffy snowman sticker and one saying "Merry Christmas".

Merry Monday....from the dog & Stick it down card

I had a small scrap of patterned paper featuring a doghouse which gave me the idea of making a Christmas card from the dog.

I found this challenge to use grey white and red so set to and created this card.

(There's a bit too much glue behind the buttons but that will disappear as it dries fully.)

*************************************************************************************************************

At Stick it down where I will be on their DT next year this is the sketch for the card challenge.

I've used patterned paper instead of paint

Naughty or nice challenges

Over at https://naughtyornicechallenge.blogspot.com.au/ they want us to use punches

That photo had me laughing!
I've used flower punchies as my background with a card I've had for ages that says "I have issues".

Saturday 12 November 2016

Jingle Belles

http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com.au/ wants flowers on Christmas cards.
I already had the tag on this card from last Christmas, but have added to it by adding background paper(obviously) and another white flower with a giant green brad.
The background on the tag was done by misting.
The Christmas stamp (with holly) is from Kaisercraft.

challenge #2

Be inspired by woodland

Challenge #2: A Walk in the Woods

In the fall, we often take long walks in the woods to enjoy the crisp air and turning of the leaves. For this challenge, let the forest be your inspiration. Create a project inspired by the woods. For ideas, check out this Pinterest board.

I've made a layout inspired by bears.
Teddy bears in fact!
While in Germany I visited the Steiff store and bought a little something for my daughter.

I've used autumn colours on this including torn mulberry paper to get the fuzzy bear look.
I added flowers, a butterfly and a heart to echo the woodland.
The photo on the left has lots of woodland creatures.
Next I used a reindeer
I painted through a stencil of a tree using brown paint on hessian.
I had a wood veneer reindeer that I wanted to use.
After searching Pinterest I  found this (there are lots of reindeer ideas on Pinterest)
That made me think of liquid pearls

Here is my finished card with snow on the tree, plus reindeer.

And while on the reindeer theme I made these from felt.
The pattern is on Pinterest.

Whimsical Musings #91 and butterfly challenge.

I put 4 rolls of Washi tape in my counterfeit kit and wanted to use them.
A week or so ago I did a layout similar except the washi went vertically.
This time I've gone horizontal to match the quote.
There are 2 butterflies on the layout.

I'm entering this at http://butterflyspotchallenge.blogspot.com.au/ as well because they want a quote,in fact ,this quote was suggested by them.

4 challenges

I've used items from my Counterfeit kit to construct this card for http://colourq.blogspot.com.au/
I'm so pleased to use those turquoise vellum leaves.
I'm also entering at Shopping Our stash where they want a thank you card.

*****************************************************
When putting the card above on Counterfeit Kit challenges, I followed Tina to Jo's scrap shack
There I found another challenge.

This led to another Christmas card.
My technique is tearing and the colours are red, green and white.
The 2 embellishments are the dotty bows.

This also fits the requirement of a Contemporary Christmas card at Cardz4galz.

Sketch Saturday

It is 10.30pm and I'm tired.
I've been on a card making frenzy tonight as there is a huge demand for my cards at the local community centre.
This card is a male one for http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com.au/ and is based on this sketch

As my brother in law has a birthday in December and was a train driver, I used a scrap featuring train tracks. He will get the connection.
The rust coloured mulberry paper has a rough edge.

Li'l red wagon and cute card Thursday

This is the sketch this week at Li'l red wagon.
I've used a tag I made recently and co-ordinating snowmen paper on a tall, thin card.
I'm also entering it at Scrapping4fun challenges
Here's my card.

Meanwhile at Cute card Thursday they want something metallic.
I've used 3 silver circles on this small gift card.

4 crafty Chicks and CKC

The challenge at 4 crafty chicks is vintage.
I'm madly making Christmas cards to sell for charity as my regular followers will know.
This card gave me a little opportunity to get back to my Counterfeit Kit.
I've used a 6x6 paper that I put in the kit plus some brown mulberry paper also from the kit.
The picture of Santa is cut from an old Christmas card and the sticker words are from my Christmas stash.
The visit of Santa is a great delight for children.

Christmas card challenges & ABC challenges

This is this week's challenge.
I'm thinking Christmas food and drink....so I went with puddings
http://christmascardchallenges.blogspot.com.au/

Next I made a card using the word Wishes for ABC Christmas challenges
I used some lace and pearls from this month's Counterfeit kit.

Kraft + challenge

Over at Kraft + challenge they ask us to be inspired by our closet.
I opened the wardrobe and noticed the colours straight away.
I'm a summer girl....yellow, greens ,turquoise, blue are the colours I love.

I've used misting & stamping for my background.
There are metallic flowers, a heart transparency, pearls, enamel dots, a home made flair, twine and many offcut strips in the layering.

Hope you like it!

Cupcake inspirations

I happened to win the last challenge at Cupcake inspirations and look forward to spending my $20 prize.
This week's theme is trees.
That gave me the impetus to make another Christmas card.

25 days of Christmas tags day 3

I've just discovered 25 days of Christmas tags at http://inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.com.au/2016/11/25-days-of-christmas-tags-main-post-and.html

Each day they provide inspiration and give examples of tags.
This one from Day 3 inspired me

I don't have a reindeer stamp but found this cute reindeer cake topper that works on a tag.
It scanned at an angle but so are those in the above picture.

Party bag

I saw an idea on mymindseye.com for a party bag.

mmepartytrio1:
It is my daughter's 30th birthday soon,so thought I'd make her one.

First, I punched a lacy border on this red and white spotted bag.

Next I pleated paper and made a rosette.
I cut a circle for the front and adhered a cherry die cut.

I filled it with her favourite "Love heart" and red frogs lollies

Finally I used a Fancy Pants sticker I had
Here it is ready top be given.
