Farm Quest

While making cards I created another one for Farm quest

I was pleased to see I reached top 3 last week with my turkey layout.

This theme is sources of light, so I immediately thought Christmas candles.

I used fussy cut pointsettias on this, plus chipboard fence posts that I turned into candles by shaping the tops then inking them with gold. I also added 3 gold stars at the base of the candles.

Hearts Challenge

At Hearts Challenge they want music plus a heart.

I made this rather innovative card using musical notes paper as my background, then found a picture of a couple sitting at the piano. The sentiment card on the left-hand side was perfect with this. There is a heart in the letter O.

Challenge YOUrself

I've made this layout for Challenge YOUrself

We were asked to use this sketch.

As my photo mat I layered 3 different papers to make a varied background. I also used similar papers to cut out my circles. After adhering those in place I used ribbon with a scalloped edge under my photo plus a row of washi tape. I found my title which I layered over the organdie ribbon.

To each of the circles I added a green flower and brad plus a wood veneer bluebird of happiness. I added my subtitle (Forever friends) with a wood veneer arrow. I also added some green triangle enamel dots along the arrow and down the left-hand side of the photo. Lastly, I sewed 2 buttons.

The paler green border goes around the bottom too, the scanner cut it off.

That's me in the middle.

Double steampunk and Christmas card throwdown.

I've now done a 2nd layout for the steampunk photos.

This one wasn't for a challenge but I managed to get my journalling on the tag plus use 3 more photos.

Here's the combination of the 2 layouts.

I'm happy with how they match up.

***************************************************************************

At Christmas card throwdown they want a winter scene.

I made my first attempt at paper tole work this afternoon. The bear on this card has 5 layers.
I enjoyed doing it and think he looks cute rugged up in scarf and mittens in the snow.
I chose not to use a sentiment as it is for a small child.

Earmquest and Scraproom Family layout.

 I've made 2 layouts today.

My first is for Farmquest and needs to feature a turkey.

It has a cooked turkey bottom left behind the little boy with the carving knife.  I used mists on this in 2 different colours,  plus diecut shapes of saucepans that I misted around. My photos are dark as my old kitchen didn't have much light that day.

Second layout used a sketch from Paper Issues

Using papers from my kit I misted the background with purple then cut my 2 smaller pieces. After mounting the photos, I added clocks and smaller items as my clusters. (wood veneers, brads, flowers, and found a green sticker with a definition for Vintage.)
I had fun making this layout.
I'm entering it at the scraproom group where they want us to spell out Family.
 F=flowers, A=antiques M= machine (sewing) I=ink L= lady Y=yellow.

Scraproom Freaky Fast Formula

I started with a white background that had an embossed compass in the corner. I rubbed red mist over that to give a shaded background. Next, I arranged my papers and doiley (the 6 1/2 inch circle).

My photo is for my Covid album and features me wearing the mask my daughter made me.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2.

Challenge #2 at Counterfeit Kit is te document something you have been anticipating or looking forward to.

It might be Christmas, or a special gift or a visit etc.

For me, I'm not ready for Christmas yet,so I chose a recent trip I made to a zoo that is 5 hours drive south of Sydney.

My daughter had visited a couple of years ago and told me how good it was.

I paid extra to do a private feeding of Tamarins. The zoo takes your photos and gives you a large size one.

After waiting all that time to go there it was a special treat for me.

I used die cut small doileys plus a hand cut circle. I matted the photo in red to match my top. I've also used washi tape under the photo and 3 black hearts. The journal card is one of the cut aparts in my kit and so is the diagonal striped one.

Moving along with the times and Cut it up.

Another Christmas card. This one is for moving along with the times.

We are asked to include a Christmas animal. The reindeer on here and the stars are die cuts. I used a kit to make this and the background sheet was already printed with the sentiment. I've used red cardstock to provide a good contrast.

At Cut it up  they want layers plus a die cut.

I've used a TLC hot fudge Christmas set of die cuts on my card.

Starting with the red background then the black then the Santas lap die cut there are 3 layers but I also used 3 green circle die cuts and some braid along the base.

Lasting Memories and Soul scrappers.

My next layout is a combined one using a sketch,

I found this on Pinterest and decided to use it for Lasting memories and Soul scrappers Tic tac toe.

Lasting memories wants us to use 3 diecuts. I think my title has that covered.

Using the tic tac toe grid, I went top left to bottom right. So, pearls, Sketch and striped paper.

Christmas crafts all year around.

This morning's card is for Christmas crafts all year around.

They are focussing on the 12 days of Christmas and want 11 of something on a card.

I've used modern Christmas paper with a sentiment and 11 white pears scattered on the top section.

Li'l red wagon

I'm taking an afternoon off from scrapping with my kit.

Li'l red wagon has a hot drinks challenge.

I've made a teapot shaped card.

I used a very pale green paper for the teapot and added a Graphic 45 tag to the top. I also used pale green pearls to delineate the lid as well as the base of my teapot.
My good friend is attending a kitchen tea soon so this will work well. I'm sure the bride will like my card.
                                                        ********************************

I just found out I won an award for a card at Hearts quest challenge.

Cut it up and colour dare challenges.

I've made a card this morning for Cut it up. They wanted layers plus we must use a die cut.

I've used 2 scraps of paper from Hot off the press, then a gingham heart punched paper over the top.

I added pearls in the hearts.

Next is a doiley die cut from Kaisercraft,  then a heart die cut. My sentiment is the last of my Cocoa Vanilla stick on words.

My next card uses the half and half idea for the background again. It is for Colour dare challenge

I used another Kaisercraft Doiley die cut then put 2 strips of a dark red across it. One has part of the sentiment-Fun times. On the second one I added the word YAY . This card will be for a teenager. I added 2 tiny pearls.

The strip of red and white braid across the card adds some "Zing" to the colour scheme.

Here's the palette

I have the maroon, red,2 shades of green and white.

Forgery on the Fourth

For my Counterfeit Kit I forged (or rather decorated) one of my muted papers.

Using a negative from a set of Jillybean soup forgot hexagons, I roughly inked through the holes using old paper distress ink. I then dribbled red mist through on top and around the area then removed the negative sticker.

This left a Christmassy looking corner on an otherwise dull paper.

Keep your eyes out for it to appear.

Mystical challenge 3 plus another layout.

This morning I've made 2 new layouts using my kit.

The first is for Mystical scrapbooking. This paper is almost the same as my old school uniform. It made me remember when our hemlines were checked each day. Mini skirts were in fashion and our hems MUST be 4 inches above the Knee.

We were asked to stamp on the background and use stars. I had a star stamp so scattered stamped stars over the tartan. I also added 3 gold stars cut from a Christmas card.

My other layout used the Cocoa Vanilla Happy Days paper I included in my kit.

The lupins were a deep pink and I had cardstock that matches. It was such a happy sunny day that I thought of the song "walking on sunshine". That became my title. I purposely put the word sunshine crooked to look like it is skipping.
I also used a couple of cut aparts, washi tape, a random button, wood veneer ferns and flower.

Farmquest challenge blog

At Farmquest challenge blog  the theme is corn.

I found it hard top locate any corn then remembered I had a tiny cob of corn. So, I added it to this card.

My card is more about the farmer, but there is the corn on the left.

Sketch 'n' scrap.

My first layout this month featuring the kit is for sketch & scrap sketch challenge

The paper I chose as my background is from Ruby Rock-it. I used the B side which has small black triangles. I cut 2 A4 papers down to create my panels then a 3rd paper as my matting.

It was blue and green checks which ties in the photo nicely. I also added 2 strips of washi tape featuring arrows and stripes. (Both muted)

The larger cut apart became my journal box. The 3 smaller ones all matched in with the theme. (Having a morning coffee). My title sums up how I was feeling sitting there looking at my daughter in the distance. She looked like a little girl awaiting a treat. I'm very grateful that she's mine!

November Counterfeit Kit

Our kit this month is from https://www.hipkitclub.net/november-2022-main-kit

At first, I thought I wouldn't do a Christmas kit, but have decided to go ahead with it.

Here's my papers and cardstock.

They are more tawnier coloured than the original kit.

                                                  Here are my embellishments

And some last minute buttons that I bought yesterday.
