January kit CKC

The kit we are asked to counterfeit is

Citrus twist kit Christmas stories with bundled album

I've modified it to suit my needs, because Christmas cards I made this year used up much of my festive papers.
I've gone with reds and browns mainly.

Similarities to the original kit are :
woodgrain paper
branches or sprigs on paper
doileys
bookpaper
writing on paper (mine says family)
trees/timber theme
checked paper
red

Here's my kit separated into 3 smaller kits with explanation.
The first part is my Christmas left overs, there's a 6x6 pad plus some red papers some with shimmer, silver leaves,a few chipboard words and small tags.

I also found these canvas shapes that I have misted with red, although some absorbed more colours than others. I can use them on layouts, tags or cards.

The next part I was thinking of New Years Eve photos. I've included some vibrant swirly papers, musical paper and clocks plus the book paper (similar to the original kit)

Part 3 was inspired by the reindeers and trees in the original kit.
I've gone with a timber woodland theme.
This is the first kit of the 3 that I put together.
There is woodtone, checked paper, small branches, script writing saying family paper.
I added chipboard branches which I can cut to suit my page, distressed look tags, and some cork and white alphas.
I searched high and low for a woodland animal but only came up with a donkey.
(Christmas connection I guess! )

My other alphas are neutral rather than red, so I can use them with any of the three  kits.
I'll add washi tape, ribbon and buttons as necessary.
I also have red mist which might make an appearance.

Yes, it is quite a departure from the original, but will suit Christmas/New Year in Australia photos.

Why play with one kit when you can have three? Woodland is my favourite. I suppose it would be a stretch to find Aussie type woodla d creatures. Are deer heads as popular down under as thy are in North America? Happy New Year to you. Hope all is well. Prayers for the firefighters and all who are affected.

Love your kits, Julene, and I can't wait to see what you create with them. Those canvas pieces that you misted turned out great. I'm starting to run low on Christmas items in my stash, too. It's been a while since I bought any new collections so I may have to add some new collections later this year when they come out.

I can't believe you don't have much Christmas stash! I have sooooo much! Ha ha. But then I get some every single year and rarely use any of it up. Somehow, I just love it all too much to cut into - this might be the month! I really like that you broke your ideas down and I agree that my fave is also the Woodland. Lots of scrummy papers and the neutral alphas is a great idea! Happy scrapping Julene!

I could recognize your kits anywhere. With this one, you had me at the Heidi Swapp 6 x 6. Enjoy, Julene!

Very creative way to deal with a dearth of holiday papers. I love how versatile this will be!

Love you kit Julene and love that you separated into 3 different kits too that have a unique theme. Great way to take on the inspiration when you don't have any holiday papers.

Such an awesome selection of kits, but that New Years Eve kit has my heart!
