Tuesday taggers

I've just made a 8x8 canvas for https://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com.au/.
It was tempting to spray it all brown but I wanted it to match my d├ęcor, hence the turquoise background.

I treated the chipboard cogs with rusting powder which involves modge podge then the rusting powder. Next you mist it with brown vinegar and bleach, allow it to dry then scrub the surface with an old toothbrush. This reveals the rust.
The gesso, inking stamps and gluing the key made the whole thing a rather messy business, but fun!

Nice. Adding the key and gears really gives it that mechanical/Steampunk feel. Glad you posted in at TIOT.:) Erika
