Over at Stuck on U sketches
This sketch perplexed me at first.
That dotted line at an angle, what would I use?
I dug into my Counterfeit Kit and discovered I had only one patterned paper left. Japanese umbrellas.
Then I had a brainwave and recalled my photos of the Japanese gardens at Butchart Gardens in Canada.
Red came into the mix with half a large doiley and that oh so enormous flower.
I found aqua card to match my top in the photo and vellum to soften the whole thing.
This means Challenge #3 at Counterfeit Kits is also done.
Instead of chevrons I have stitched in the same 3 areas.
Keen observers will notice my punched maple leaf and squirrel sticker from Canada too.

Oh I love how much that layout pops - the splash of red is fantastic!
Thanks for letting me know about the CFK feature Julene, I don't have face book so the nudge to go see was great and a lovely surprise!! Love your LO here... just shows how resourceful we can be when we run low on supplies... LOVE what you did with this!
Even though the sketch does not convince you, in the end you did a great job!

another sketch perfectly executed! well done on using that large flower - works so well here and I'd never have thought to use it.- And the stitching is a great way to interpret that dotted line

Super layout, fun colors!
Really loving the red.
Great way to use a paper that I never would have been able to figure out a use for-and the red just ties it all together!
