Pinque Peacock challenges

On the Facebook group "All our challenges", I found a new one.
It is named Pinque Peacock challenges

The challenge this time is to use banners.
As Easter is coming up I made an Easter card.
The background paper is by Kikki K,the washi tape was from Shop n'crop and the pennants and bunnies are Kaisercraft.

Artastic Canvas

The challenge at Artastic is this

I've made this canvas using multi layering of mixed media items.
First I stamped with Kaiser "moments" stamp.
Next I've used rub-ons with words such as love ,promise, moment, happiness in quotes.
The background was painted with white gesso then I used gesso through a clock mask to create the raised texture.
Next I misted with Tattered Angels turquoise mist.
The Memory Maze chipboard cogs were also misted then placed randomly on the canvas.
The white gauze was placed in a criss cross pattern going both vertically and horizontally.
On the right hand side I've used all that remained from my Prima metallic. They were glued to the canvas.
After measuring where the photo was to go, I added blue foil then my photo and a flair button from Shopevalicious.
The canvas sticker and inked bird are then added.
I keep humming "If I could turn back time" and I don't know why, except that I would dearly love to visit Venice again one day.
Here are some close ups

and here is the complete canvas.

Mojo Monday # 335

Here is the recent sketch for Mojo Monday.

I've used silver, pale blues and jade as my card is for a baby boy.
The larger central square is a journaling sticker from my Counterfeit Kit and the strip going across is from a paper in last month's kit.

Stuck with Peacocks

The sketch at Stuck! prompted me to use the bird paper from my Counterfeit Kit.
I had 2 photos of a peacock we saw in Greece.
The main problem was the blues in the peacock and the brown tones of the 7 Gypsies Aviary paper.

My backing strips were a mixture of brown and blues.
My embellishment corners and edge strip were brown.
The wooden camera on the far LHS has a blue mottled centre and drips of Tattered Angels mist cover the brown section.
My title overlaps the photos.
In all these ways I have linked the blues and browns.
As I really love these papers I left as many birds facing out as I could manage.

Watercolour at Counterfeit Kits.

A few years ago I bought these "Silky crayons" at a local show.

I haven't used them much, but decided to add some colour to this heavily embossed cardstock.
The idea is you use just a touch of light colouring in with the crayon then spread it with the water pen.

I did each colour separately (ie all the pink first etc.)
As this is a photo of my grandparents I wanted something special.
Nanna always wore small florals on her dresses (or at least that is how I remember it.)
For this reason I chose to keep the flowers fairly true to the embossing.
This is a slight twist on water colour, but it still is using water and paint.
and a close up
