Counterfeit Kit blog hop

Here were the 3 challenges at Counterfeit Kits this month:

1.Challenge #1 Ugly Sweater Inspiration - do you love them or hate them?  Let those big shapes and bright colours take centre stage on your projects!
Challenge #2 Angled Backgrounds -  create an angled background for your project
Challenge #3 10 Minute Craft Dash -  time yourself ... you have TEN MINUTES to make a card!

Here's the order for the Blog Hop
I've chosen Challenge #2 for the blog hop.
This is the uneven challenge.

I started with this Bella zigzag kraft from my February kit.
It was very full-on and whatever I put with it looked awful.
Spurred on by this challenge, I cut strips of papers (from my scrap basket), on the diagonal.
It still looks too busy but I wanted some of the black zig zag to show.

Solution, a very plain mat and photo.
I found a yellow self coloured chevron paper as my mat.
The photo of a fancy drink I had recently went so well with it all.

Put them all together, add some co-ordinating embellishments, and there you have it!

Now your next stop on the hop is Tina     http://tinasscrapcorner.blogspot.com

What a clever way to break up the chevron/zig zag! :o)

I too struggle with too much bold chevron on a page - looks like a way to cope with it! Great looking drink too - yum :-D

That drink looks delicious.
You did well to overcome those chevrons :)

Great way to deal with the chevron and yes, the end result works really well. I think the addition of the yellow mat was genius!

Very busy but it works so well who knew? The drink looks yummy & the lollipop swizzle sticks are cute!.

Angles really add to the fun of the page, don't they. And I love that little lettering you've added.

It does work, surprisingly :) It's a really nice break up of the bold background and the calm of the mat really is nice. Looks a fantastic drink too

Really cute layout, love how angled papers look random and it tones down the background paper.

It reminds me of the drink in the blender, with all the layers!
