Flutterby Wednesday -new start

Flutterby Wednesday's new challenge for 2013 is to create a card for a new start.It could be a new baby or new home etc.
I had baby boy in mind when I created this.My cousin has recently become a grandma again.
I've also used a new Websters pages heart sticker plus the regulation butterflies.
For a change, I stamped them in blue on pearlescent card.I like the effect and may use coloured inks more now I've forced myself away from black.

Kraft it up..up...up!

The colour palette for Kraft it up and White with one were almost the same,so while I had the aqua and red out,I added orange and kept scrapping.
With this one, I started by misting through a cog template. The card soaked up the liquid giving the misty/soft effect.
Because of the wheels theme, I went with a rather dark photo of Erica on the London Eye.She was terrified to stand next to the window for this photo.
I've just purchased October Afternoon-Midway collection so I used their word stickers,do-dads,journal cards and brads on this layout. I've added 2 more Icicles,plus a ticket and an orange leaf.

Looks like I'm first to upload to Kraft it up...oh well someone has to be first!!!

White with One at the beach

It is another travel layout for those who enjoy sharing my travels.
This was a photo taken of the main beach in Rhodes Greece.All those sun lounges,umbrellas and millionaires!
This is this month's entry for White with one. Yasoo to Katerina,the guest designer.

I started with white cardstock,(in hindsight I should have put a border around it).I've used a red mat,then added strips of red and blue patterned papers,rub-ons,ribbon and tags.
I used a negative from Scrapmatts "Timeless Memories" as my title(painted white) and wrapped twine around it about 3 times for some colour.The little words are by Heidi Grace and an icicle from K&i memories saying ocean.I've had that pack of icicles for about 9 years.

Stitches in Thyme #96

Here is the "stitches in Thyme" sketch for December.
 I have chosen to focus on my daughter's sewing room.There will be other photos following.This rack is the headquarters for her fabrics and patterns.
As my background paper, I've used American Crafts' Abode paper.It is quite busy but suitable as it features shelves.
I used gesso across the width of the paper then when it was dry misted with red through a mask of chevron pattern.The strip going vertically matches the background paper well.
I've then found strip stickers with words related to sewing as my journalling and the quote as my title.
Finally,I personalised it with the date and her name.Placed on after I scanned it.

Here is my card for Unscripted sketches #191.I flipped the sketch upside down.

Bird is the word on Holiday

My above layout is actually 10 photos! It is a wheel with a window to show one photo at a time.(Like those birthday cards with ages you can change)The turner is at the right,hence the white patch.It took quite a while lining up the pictures.I had one circle left over so used that on my layout plus another of my dd in a lavender patch.I stitched around the rectangular photo using 2 threads purple & green to match the lavender.
Continuing with the lavender theme I hand did my title as lavender sprigs and placed my journalling underneath using matching gel pen.The brad in the centre is holding the wheel of photos in place.

Over at my challenge blog,Archiscraps I am searching for a Design Team.
I'm looking for 5 followers who would consider doing one layout per month to inspire our theme of Architecture .

Your task for this is to create a layout based on this picture....

And your extra requirement is some water in your photo.

It could be droplets of rain, through to a flood....whatever you decide.
Look at this photo and let your imagination run wild.
It doesn't need to be a building,it could be anything.
I'm looking for individuals who love to create something fresh and inspiring.

Applications close at the end of January 31st at midnight (EDST) and there will be a 6 month stint from February to August 2013.
