Challenge #3 Use one thing

Here's my layout about the Ghan railway. It is iconic in Australia as it goes from North to South (and vice versa) across the middle of Australia. I was really looking forward to the trip.

Challenge #3: One Thing: You may use paper, photos and only ONE other thing on your project (like mist or stamping or one type of embellishment).

In my case, it is the Simple stories "Take a hike" stickers.
I've used them on the library pocket, plus there is a topper above the top photo and on the left hand side between the 2 photos.
The ruler along the bottom (Partly obscured) is also from that range.

I've put my journaling in the pocket to document my journey.
This was the cabin I was expecting

but because I was a single, I was given this.
Just room for my legs, and it then folded into a bed with no space for anything.
There was definitely some disappointment felt.

Anyway, I survived.
Now here is the order for our blog hop.

Hope you enjoyed our mini hop this month.
We would love to see what you can do at Counterfeit Kits.

Bummer, that compact space is short on area and charm, isn't it. But your page has plenty of charm - love that touch of plaid on the pocket.

Oh my goodness -- just a little difference from your expectations. However, your page does not disappoint! all of the parts of the page fit perfectly together that you would think the papers were made for each other. I, especially, love the plaid pocket!

I think I would have been very claustrophobic with those accommodations but good for you for making the best of it. I really like your page - the pocket with the plaid and the sticker accents is very nice!

I would be disappointed too! What an experience to scrap :) I just love to see what your scraping it is so interesting and I can relate so well to it too. I like how you used the sticker sheet for this challenge, way to pin point it down for the challenge :)

I knew nothing about the Ghan Railway before this post. Thanks to Mr. Google and Mr. Wikipedia, I am no longer an ignorant northerner. The day cars would be a relief to the mini quarters, were they not? I love the photos of your expectations vs reality. Will there be a layout on that too?

What a shame! Poor you. I think I would have been gutted but I'm glad you were able to put those feelings behind you and move forward with this lovely page :-)

What a shame Julene - especially as you probably paid more than half of the cost of the larger one. Great page though and a wonderful experience I'm sure.
