Show us your stuff and challenge #2 tutorial.

One technique that I haven't used for a while on a layout is shaker boxes.
I decided to put one featuring kangaroos on this layout.

You need foam core board and a sharp knife, plus some clear transparency.
http://www.hgtv.com/design/make-and-celebrate/handmade/how-to-make-a-scrapbook-shaker-box
shows you how to make them.
You can add beads or other items to make them rattle if you wish.
Somehow my kangaroos ended up upside down, oh well it is the land "down under"!
They can easily be shaken the correct way up.

and if you want a Kangaroo die cut, I found this on pinterest

I'm entering this layout on Show us your stuff where we are asked to focus on handwriting.
I was pleased to use this rather large journaling tag I've made, to tell the story.

I haven't done a shaker box in ages. How nice you could find a die-cut for such a unique item - it makes for a really nice page.

Oh, my, I had my morning giggle over "the land down under"! Definitely an innovative item for a shaker box & so wonderful on your page. Loved your custom journaling spot, too!

I've never made a shaker box. Thanks for the link. A got a giggle too,..thanks! Cute page. Your handwriting blends so nicely. Sounds like an enjoyable flight and not just an air taxi ride. Love the flairs too.

What a fun shaker box - great way to support the theme of the page! And I also like your relaxed attitude about the kangaroos being upside-down.

Fabulous idea to use on your layout - I've never made a shaker box, so thanks for sharing that idea. Great story, and use of the script paper and large alphas to tie in with the handwriting theme. Thanks for joining us at Show Us Your Stuff.
