Color me scrappy

The sale of my parents' house is looming, so I've been super busy cleaning and removing stuff in preparation for the photos being taken.
It has taken me nearly a week to complete this layout for Color me scrappy.
The criteria is this picture plus they asked for a tribal look.

Although I haven't used real feathers I managed to find a chipboard negative from some Scrapmatts Ferns. I drew through it with black pen and created a cluster of "feathers" in the top corner.

Now here is my layout.
The paper is Kaisercraft Basecoat.
The other scraps of paper are a mixture of Prima, Heidi Swapp, MME, Jillybean soup, even packaging from something.
The alphas are Fancy Pants October 31st. I thought the curly bits resembled smoke tendrils.
The flair button is also Fancy pants.
The rub on is Kaisercraft.
Wood veneer camera and wire camera paperclip, I've forgotten the make.

The story behind it is I stepped off the train one afternoon and started walking towards my car.
As I rounded a corner, there was a massive plume of smoke from bushfires in the Blue Mountains.
It was terrifying!

Beautiful Julene and clever use of the negative feather chippy. I think the colour palette is putting people off which is a shame, because it is stunning! I am loving everyone's layouts .I think the palette has been a nice surprise for us all. Cleaning a house out is a hard job

Well done for adapting your chip board to make your feathers and I love the swirly lettering (they sure do resemble smoke tendrils!). Thanks for playing along with our colour challenge at Color Me Scrappy. xx

I just love the reuse of the chipboard sheet! That's awesome that you kept it. I would keep using it with that purpose! Thanks for joining us at CMS.

I never through away a negative chipboard for this exact reason. You never know when you will need it again. Thanks for playing along with CMS.
