Rochelle Speares and scrap with Stacey

At Rochelle Spears here is her sketch

And at Scrap with Stacey, here is the tic tac toe.

I Interpreted it on this layout.

Paperbark trees are a species of eucalypt that their bark can be actually used to write on.

I flipped the layout so the secondary area is top left instead of top right. It worked better for me that way. I also put the photos straight instead of tilted as I felt the tree would look weird on a tilt.

I layered papers that matched plus hessian under the photo mat. There's a strip across under the photos.

For Scrap Happy : I went down the left hand side of the grid. I used a kraft tag, stickers (ring reinforcements on the pocket) and patterned paper with word "Exploring" printed on it.

Paper Issues scraplift #1

The very first layout to scrapbook this month was this one.

Using all items from my Counterfeit kit I came up with this layout.

The background paper is from Studio Calico and named Yearbook. It was busy so needed to be partly covered at least.

I used other shades of green on here because the photo, taken at Cowra Gardens had mainly green plants.

My photo is landscape, not portrait but still works I think.

I've also used ribbon plus strips of paper and die cuts.

Alphabet challenge

I've made a card for my great nephew turning 19 soon, who is very keen on music.

It is for Alphabetic challenge blog  where the theme is hobbies or interests.

The background paper is from Fancy Pants and is quite busy so I used the tag to break it up.
I hand drew the music coming from the fox's saxaphone.

Paper Issues Scraplift #3

We have another layout to scrap lift. This one is done by Kate Boddy Blue, who is also one of the counterfeit team.

My 2 photos are of the view from the top of the hill in Cowra. It was late afternoon and misty rain. There was a shimmer in the air with lots of atmosphere.

Everything on this page is from my kit.

Paper Issues Scraplift #2

Paper issues on Facebook has 31 days of scraplifts. Here's #2 which appeals to me.

I chose greens from my kit and added some autumn toned washi tape.
They all worked well with the photo from Cowra Gardens.

The scraproom group Jumpstart sketch

I'm starting this month with a sketch from the scraproom facebook group. It is for the jumpstart sketch.

When I was on my Country Towns trip, I ate dinner at a hotel several nights. These lamb cutlets were memorable as was the railway scene on the wall.Worthy of a photo in both cases.

I used an old Kaisercraft paper from my kit. The colours in the photos suited the oranges.I did my stitching in an ochre coloured thread and used up another roll of cotton. (Hooray!)

I've added hearts and washi tape as my other trims plus 2 random flower shapes with butterflies that I had. Hard to see but at bottom left I fussy cut out flowers from the same paper and used them as a feature.

This also qualifies for lasting memories where they want floral paper, hearts and washi tape.

August Counterfeit Kit

It is wattle day here in Australia and the flowers are blooming already, Spring is almost on the way.

The August kit is from Citrus kits again and is the Citrus Twist TRAVELOGUE Life-Crafted Kit - April 2022 –

I chose this kit because of the green colours mainly, but there is also lots of mustard/yellow.

These papers make a statement!

The embellishments appealed to me with car,flamingo,cactus/desert theme as well as tiny flags ,tags, globe, cameras, train, plane, dolphin, crab. It covers all holidays or weekends away no matter where you live. Make it your own!

There's so much scope there for everybody!

Presenting My Kit : Woodlands and Islands

My kit started with the papers and I'm continuing with the theme of using what I have on hand.

Here's my papers

There's more pink than the original papers but I can use them. I've put some of my favourite ,"Chapter one", in there too.

Here's My Embellishments

I've added many ribbons,I even found one that says "splash". Also here are tags in various sizes and shapes. Then there's buttons, washi tapes, die cuts, scraps of lace, random flowers.I will add enamel dots and wood veneers as required.

There are 2 packs of Simple Stories brads and 2 Flourish with a bling black vines. (Time to use stuff I hoard!)

For my alphas, I have gone rogue!

I chose crimson and turquoise plus a bag of colourful pastel letters. I'm running low on alphas now ,after having a plastic tub full a couple of years ago.

I haven't put any mini words in as I don't own any.
