Sketch Saturday

For Sketch Saturday I've chosen #235 as my basis for a birthday card.
I've had this AST for 14 YEARS!!!
It is high time it was recycled on a card.
I've used chevron paper, a strip of pink and a happy birthday stamp for my sentiment.

Another card to use up scraps. Most of these are from last month's Counterfeit Kit
For some reason I have holidays on my mind.
I've made a bon-voyage card using a sloped frame, a ticket and a leaf.

Color me scrappy

This is the color palette and sketch for Color me scrappy

and this is the 2nd layout that I have done using this sketch.

The first one is the Lisa Oxley one below and for some reason I forgot there was a color scheme.

Anyway, here's the official one.

 

I started with a plain green background & lightly misted it.

I've used a Cosmo Cricket paper as my mat.

Where the hexagons are in the sketch, I've sprinkled punched apples to go with the garden theme.

The ribbon along the bottom contains yellow & grey and as this was near a duck pond, it is appropriate.

Looking at it today the misting seems to behave like shadows and I couldn't resist the chipboard sun up in the corner.

Unstampabelles Challenge is for a Christmas card this time.
I've used some embellishments clustered for this one.

Meeting up with Lisa Oxley

 

Earlier this year at Camp Mojo we rubbed shoulders with many top scrappers.
One of those who inspired me greatly was Lisa Oxley.
She is the queen of mists and colour.

My layout is loosely based on a sketch, but I had to add mists and lots of colour as a tribute to her. The quote certainly applies.
