The sisterhood of crafters and Time out challenges

At the sisterhood of crafters they want stripes and dots.

I decided to make a Christmas card.

The paper is striped and the ribbon bow has dots. I think this will appeal to most people.

Next card is for Time out challenges

WE are asked to use 2 or more.

I used 3 :- Transport, stars, stripes.

Sketch 'n' scrap

Here's the latest at Sketch and Scrap.

I had a photo of my daughter with her Dad, so used it on the following layout.

Instead of a second photo I used a journalling card. The whole page is from Simple Stories.

I was pleased to use another grey hessian flower plus a lacy flower I cut from a card.

Cardz 4 guyz

At Cardz 4 guyz they want summer holidays themed cards.

I used vellum on this after putting it through my cuttlebug embosser. It conjures up morning swims at the seaside to me. The cute fish at the bottom could suggest fishing holidays also.

The male room

The male room wants cats or dogs.

I found some smaller pieces of October afternoon papers and decided to use them on a card.

Obviously, this is a birthday card for a 2 year old.

My time to craft and Ellibelle's Corner

Over at My time to craft they want 2 or more patterned papers. I used 3 on this card.

It is bright and colourful and could work for either male or female.

This second card is for Ellibelle's Corner where it is anything in a garden. I found a die cut of some flowers so layered papers and a tag under it in pretty colours.

CAS on Sunday

The theme at CAS on Sunday is animals. I've made 2 cards using recycled pictures of animals. Take your pick!

Hearts Quest and Farmquest win.

I received an honorable mention for this card I did at Hearts quest challenge.

Part of my prize was a guest spot for the latest challenge.
The new theme is cowboy/cowgirl/ranch theme.
This is at Farmquest and is for "Culla's ride" layout.

Here's my 2 examples.

Why not join in the fun!!

Paper issues sketch

This is the latest sketch at Paper Issues.

I've used an old black and white photo of me in Kindergarten.

I had lots of fun gluing flowers etc on this.

3 more layouts.

Here's a layout I made today. It was sparked by that airmail envelope which came as an advertising mail. I put the camera over the writing and here it is!

This sketch was for Black Magic Sketches.
I had 2 40th birthday photos to scrap so made this layout.

The mesh was part of padding in an Amazon bag. I cut it to size then adhered it to the layout.
I used chipboard squares instead of a doiley.

This layout was done for Paper Issues group.

I matched it as closely as I could and used faux stitching.

Li'l Red Wagon

At Li'l red wagon they want cats on a card.

I've found a cat asleep on a cushion and made a birthday card. I used the red, white and blue theme.

Shopping our stash

At Shopping our stash I found this rather large wood veneer ornament but decided to use it on a card.

I thought it could be later taken off the card by the recipient and hung on their Christmas tree.

That's another way to recycle.

My time to craft

At my time to craft they want us to use fibre. This can include twine, ribbon, embroidery cotton, fabric etc.

The word 'fabric' reminded me I had some bright fabric with frogs on. I used Jack paper to adhere it to my card then added a journal square for my sentiment and some matching washi tape.

It will be a good card for children as it is bright and colourful.

The scraproom FFF and others.

Here's the recipe for Freaky Fast Friday

I used my kit to make this layout of my daughter dressed as a sheep.

The next one was for a sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme.

This 3rd one was for another challenge involving fussy cutting.

This final one made me use lots of bits and pieces. The wood veneer leaves I bought recently in a specials bin, the buttons were old, the J was a cut out one from when I first learnt scrapbooking 20 years ago and the butterfly stickers are new. The word paradise has been hanging around for a couple of years, it was from Kaisercraft set I had. Best of all was the paper which is a long-term resident on my scrap shelf.

Two new layouts.

Time to catch up on my layouts from this kit.

The first one was for Sketches in Thyme.

I used landscape photos but followed the sketch closely otherwise.

The second one was for another sketch challenge.

I had fun using up lots of leftover strips and managed to hide a paper featuring cotton reels on my background. Also pleased to use the geotag and the zebra ribbon (or some of it anyway).

July Counterfeit kit.

This month it is my turn to choose a kit.

I had an idea to do a look back at old kits we did years ago and repeat one as a

 FLASHBACK MONTH

Here's the kit I've chosen

It is the Noel Mignon Balboa kit from July 2014. It has a definite Carribean calypso feel.

Click here  to see my original interpretation of that kit.

A couple of things I noticed back then was the Blackboard trend with black matte papers you could write on. The other was flairs and brads which I used a lot of back then.

Without further Ado here's my kit this time around. I've named it CALYPSO DAYS

                                                                         PAPERS

EMBELLISHMENTS

CUT -APARTS

                                                             STAMPS

A big welcome to our guest designer (also a flashback as she was around back in 2014).

KATE BODDY BLUE

I'm Kate Blue, your guest designer for July! When I saw the Noel Mignon Balboa kit, the first thing that caught my eye was the mix of bright bold colors with a splash of black. The second things were the prints- hearts, butterflies and polka dots. So that's where I started my kit, I was determined to use vintage paper stash as much as possible. I then kept my embellishments add-on kit somewhat small (for me anyway) focusing on butterflies, cards, frames, sparkly bits and lots of various alphas. And there you have my July kit; hope I'll inspire you as the month goes by!

Now here is the blog hop
Have a great month everyone!
