Cardz 4 guyz

One last card for today. This one is for Cardz 4 Guyz.

The theme is Autumn colours. I had some yellow scraps on my desk which work on the orange card. Then I fussy cut the pumpkin and 3 acorns and adhered them to my card. I think it will work well for a gardener I know.

Christmas cards all year round

At Christmas cards all year round they are working on letters R and S.

I found 2 light silver metallic reindeers so glued them on to a reindeer background paper card. The green strip across the bottom works as grass for them to stand on and also contains the sentiment.

Christmas or not BINGO challenge.

Our theme is always anything goes with the featured BINGO card. Choose one letter in the word BINGO and use at least three items in that column on your project. You must state in your blog post the column and the specific items used. This is not your typical BINGO card where you go up and down, left and right and diagonally. To make this more fun, you can only go up and down using the columns. There is a FREE space in each column that you are welcome to utilize if you'd like. You cannot mix and match columns - you can only use one column under one letter. The new bingo board is found at the end of the inspiration section.

I found a new card blog and am making a card using column I.

I used a kraft and red striped paper, I made a banner or garland by cutting triangles in another matching striped strip of paper. I also added a wooden snowflake and a vellum sentiment.

So that makes Christmas, stripes, garland and free.

Try it on Tuesday and shopping our stash.

At Try it on Tuesday they want us to use pretty papers.

I found more Christmas papers that work together using the colours red and yellow. The background is yellow with festive stars and spots. The border strip of gingham toned in perfectly. Finally the santa paper that spells out Christmas makes my top layer.

I'm also entering this at Shopping our stash where they want people. There's plenty of Santa people there to qualify!

Sketch and scrap snowflake card

Yesterday I made a card for Atlantic Hearts and now this one for Sketch and scrap is very similar.

Here's my card. I used mulberry paper as my backing for the snowflake, so it was hard to cut and arrange it. I chose a smaller mitten wood veneer for the other embellishment.

Here's a photo of the cards I've done in the last few days.

Sketch n scrap throwback sketch.

Here's me in Pompei looking unhappy. It was about 100 degrees that day. I am VERY thankful that I can travel and enjoy seeing new places.

This layout is based on sketch #209  from Sketch and scrap

The hut creative plus build a layout.

I started with leaf patterned paper and cut it into wide strips. I used a few random border strips in between.

Next, I matted my photos then added them to the layout. Build a layout required wood shapes so I added 2 bird cages. Near them I added some native flowers from Autumn lane (wattle and white flowers).

52 CCT

I've made this card for 52Christmas Card Throwdown.

The theme is green and cream. I had a larger sized wood veneer tree so used that plus 2 strips of paper from a 12 x 12 sheet of scrapbooking paper. One contained the sentiment.

Sketches in Thyme 8th September

Here's the next sketch at Sketches in Thyme.

I used a few scrap offcuts I had on my desk for this layout as they all matched.

From the set of pale blue alphas on my desk I used all the asterisks as embellishments plus the strip of navy ric-rac.

Scraproom Group 2 challenges.

I've done 2 more layouts today using my Counterfeit kit papers.

The first is for the scraproom group using the letters in the word TEACH.

I have used T=tearing E=enamel dots A=autumn C=clear letters H=heart.

That is an old Rusty Pickle paper that I'm pleased to use.

Next is a throwback sketch

I used a spotted Basic Grey as my background. Then I added a strip of plaid in dark blue and a lighter blue figured paper (I think they're bales of cotton). Along the bottom of that I added 2 rows of border strips.

These 2 photos are of an antique doll's bed made by my grandfather in the 1920s. I recently decided to give it to a local charity to do up and sell. I used my 72 year old teddy bear as the model.

After doing the journalling I found the perfect title in a Christmas pack. My last embellishments were the 2 flais.

and a close up of my journalling.

Lasting Memories

This layout is for Lasting Memories, which starting next month, will be my new DT.

We have been asked for 2 photos2 hexagons, a 2-word title and 2 embellishments.

I had a scrap of paper that was almost hexagon shape so trimmed it to make the larger hexagon. From the scraps I made the smaller hexagon. I put it on a postcard printed paper that came from a friend. I also added the word happy to make the 2-word title.
My wood veneer butterflies are embellishments that are subtle.
The photos are from a local river walk I did recently.

Freaky fast Friday

This is for Freaky Fast formula at the scraproom group.

I used an orange basic grey paper for my background. The strip of blue paper makes a good contrast. The other 2 papers blend nicely in.

After matting my 2 photos in green to match the grass I added small embellishments. Stickers pennants,a squirrel, a swirl and tiny round stickers in neutrals. I found some alphas yesterday that were cut on an accucut machine 25 years ago. I managed to spell bark so put wrapped the bark as my title.

The fungii surprised me when I saw it in the park. Of course I had to photograph it.

AAA cards

Here's my card for AAA cards.

I channeled the colours from the 1970s with this background paper then added 3 strips of washi tape across the lower half. The sentiment says sing dress up twirl and twirl play.

Soul scrappers sketch

Here is the Soul Scrappers sketch for September.

I went back through some old photos of our Europe trip and found these of Erica eating spaghetti.

I'm trying to use more difficult papers and this camera paper certainly fits the bill!

I had 2 canvas shapes which I painted pink then used a journal card tucked into the top for my title. I also used a wood veneer bicycle and a 3D camera embellishment.

The Male Room

I've been watching those videos on facebook that have ideas for cards. This one is using the thin branding strips that come on scrapbooking paper. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I'm entering it at the Male Room where it is dots or stripes. In my case it is stripes.

Soul Scrappers This or That challenge

I chose coloured background, 3 photos, rhinestones, stickers, butterflies, circle punch. The yellow photo section is a pocket for the brochure.

I was trying to take selfies and my friend kept pulling faces. We both ended up laughing.

If you're having trouble seeing the butterflies, here is a close-up.

Sketch 'n scrap September.

This is the first sketch at Sketch n scrap .

I've used 3 of the papers from my Counterfeit kit. The striped one had lines that were skew and went all over the place so when cutting the strips I purposely cut at an angle.

I had a sticker title that said my lucky star so used it on here plus smaller stars as embellishments. The quote at the bottom is from Art Stacks.

Counterfeit Kit

I'm not on the Counterfeit design team but still making up a kit as I find it a good way to use up those papers.

The chosen kit is travel themed and is from Story Foundations: Destinations Bundle — Traci Reed Designs

Here's my kit papers. There's maps, cars, cameras, postcards, stamps, pineapples plus a mixture of patterns. Also Ktaft mini words and the cut apart sheet. I added smaller cardstock for matting.

As you like it challenge

As you like it  asks us our favourite wild animal and why.

I happen to love deers. They seem so gentle and timid and aren't killers like lions for example.

I'm sure the bucks can inflict some damage with those antlers but on the whole deers strike me as gentle creatures.

With that in mind I made yet another Christmas card featuring a scene with 2 deers near a tree.

I inked the tree with pinecone ink lightly to give it some 3D texture. I also added a cream star. The background paper comes from a 6x6 Kaisercraft pad.

Jingle Belles

Today I got the Christmas craft box down from the top cupboard and am starting in earnest on Christmas crafts.

At Jingle Belles they ask for stickers.

I found some foam stickers which are gingerbread girls. I made a bright green card with 3 of those girls scattered on the card. Looks festive to me!

ABC Christmas challenge and Li'l red wagon.

At ABC Christmas challenge they gave us a choice of penguins, 4 of something or rectangles.

I have chosen 4 of something and used more of the silhouette shapes. In this case it is a reindeer family.

With the houndstooth border around the sentiment, this has a Scottish look.

                                                        *****************************
While we are on reindeer, I found Li'l red wagon wants 3 of something. I made another card on a paler green and included 3 reindeer. I inked the 2 white ones to look more natural and gave the tree some ink as well.

Creative inspiration challenges

I've made 2 pink cards today using more of the silhouette card die cuts.

My first is this one.

It could be for twin baby girls or just a general card.

I'm entering it at Creative Inspiration Challenges.

The second one will be a Christmas card and again uses another shape.

Neglected stuff challenge.

At Neglected stuff challenge there is a chance to use up stuff you have in your stash that you haven't used for a while.

I did that with this card. My daughter gave me a 6x6 pad of papers that I hadn't started yet. I also had tags that I made a few months ago with blue scraps. My string came tied around a parcel. The angel is the only new thing.

This became a Christmas card in non-traditional colours.

I'm also entering at Hearts Quest fantasy challenge

Try it on Tuesday and The Male Room.

At Try it on Tuesday they want us to be inspired by a song.

I have chosen "Bicycle' by Queen.

I found a picture from an old picture dictionary so made a card based around that.

I think the stripes and spots make a good combo for this male oriented card.

I'm also entering at The Male Room where they want jobs or professions. I figured there are men who own bicycle shops so it qualifies.

Sketches in Thyme

Here is the next sketch at Sketches in Thyme.

and my interpretation is this

I pulled out the dottariffic pen which I haven't used for years but it was ideal for the arrows and the dots.

I also cut some words from a sticker sheet of summer words. and put them around the top.

BLACK MAGIC SKETCHES

Here is the August palette for Black Magic Sketches.

I couldn't decide if that second colour was grey or a dusty blue so used both. The blue is in the tiny Prima flowers. The grey is in the double door embellishment and the motivational stickers.

I used an olive organdie ribbon which has plenty of life in it. Hence the jaunty angle on the bow! It is also down the left-hand side of the lime strip on the left.

Just us girls.

I've made a card with yellow today for Just us girls.

I had a ready-made tag (by me), with 3 flowers in a cluster. I added small green leaves.

I used a polkadot background then script paper as another layer. My plastic sentiment is recycled from an old commercial card. I added a yellow flower border under the tag.
