White with One challenges.

At white with one the theme is Monopoly. We are asked to choose one of the primary colours or silver and create a layout based on monopoly.

I had a random $10 note from years ago so started with that.

I drew 3 circles and used a doily mask and yellow paint. I stitched the circles in yellow cotton.

After matting and adding my photo, I found 3 tickets-2 yellow and one white. I put words describing my thoughts as I saw this sunrise. I also added a tab above my photo saying grateful. I added 2 sticker black arrows to emphasise the round. I then hand wrote my title as I don't think thickers would fit in that space.

Junk journal continued

Here's more junk journal pages I've done.

There is no rhyme or reason for my pages in this junk journal however I am using up lots of scraps and trying out different ideas. For example, in this lot there are altered playing cards plus embossing and the corset shape using brads and embroidery cotton.

Challenge yourself and Soul Scrappers This and That.

I'm combining 2 challenges with this layout.

Firstly, at Soul Scrappers they have a this or that challenge. I did the yellow side.

Secondly, this is for the last ever Challenge YOUrself. I'm going to miss it because I've been doing their challenges for a long time (10 years ??). I would like to thank all the team for their hard work and inspiration. Sharon in particular has been friendly and reliable.

That brings me to my layout which is a photo of me and the room maid on my cruise. Eve was wonderful and I appreciated her. I called my title Hello and goodbye as we often passed in the corridoor so I'd say hello. On the last day I said goodbye.

Time out challenges

At time out challenges we are asked to pick two. I've made a card to wish friends a nice summer holiday.

I used sun and ice cream.

Little red wagon

This time, Little red wagon wants outdoors. Here's my first Christmas card for this year.

I used a piece of paper that had plant stems on it. I then stamped reindeers near the bottom to look like they're in a forest. I added a brown strip and 3 die cut reindeers across the top.

The Scraproom throwback sketch

Here is the throwback sketch.

I chose a navy paper plus a neutral background with a floral pattern that is subdued.

My photos are bigger, so I used one portrait in full size and 2 cut to a square. They are 3 more view of inside the ship. These were the last 3 I had on my desk to scrap.

I used a tan coloured cotton that matches the walls in the photos and stitched top and bottom. I made the tag featuring the pineapple sticker on the side.Underneath the navy paper I have overlapped 3 stickers featuring leaves and a cool drink.

After doing my journalling, my layout is done.

Colour challenge at the scraproom.

This is the colour challenge at the Scrap room.

I've decided to scrap a heritage photo.I started with a light green patterned paper then cut a smaller piece of white and purple stripes to  put on top. I distressed the edges and used pinecone ink to age it. My next layer was an old dress pattern piece, which I also distressed.

I matted my photo on bottle green

Next, I worked on my title. I found most of my letters except the H and R so had to cover purple letters in yellow paper then cut out the shapes with a knife. Messy business!

I also wiped pinecone ink around the title paper and the H and R so it wasn't so bright. I put 2 strips of darker ribbon across the bottom then added a few neutral tags to the right of the photo. I added a random button I had lurking. I punched a border strip with gold card then wound brown embroidery thread around the punched border. Lastly, I added a couple of staples to hold the torn corners back.
