Lasting Memories

At Lasting Memories there is a colour challenge.

My first problem was I don't have much floral paper, especially in those colours.

I decided to feature a cluster on the layout instead.

Two of the papers in my kit are tawny pinks, somewhat darker than the palette, but still similar tones. I used those as my background. The one going across is Ruby Rock it "Faded Empire". I matched the greens fairly well and included bottle green in the ric rac as that was our school colour. The pearl flourish is from Flourish with a bling.

The story behind this is I was "recruited" into the school choir in 1967, aged 12, for the official opening of the school. The song we sang was Gaudeamus Igitur and as none of us spoke latin, we rote learnt it!

Hotel memory layout.

My first layout with the new kit features a hotel where I went for lunch while I was in Forster recently.

I've used some tones of brown which were smaller pieces in my kit.I kept the embellishments simple using a fox sticket tag plus a fussy cut fox.

This was the hotel where my parents spent their honeymoon in 1942. We visited it with Mum and Dad in around 1990 and I have happy memories of the place.

CAS on Sunday and Jingle Belles.

I've made 2 Christmas cards, both featuring a felt reindeer for 2 different card challenges.

The first card is for CAS on Sunday where the card must be clean and simple. I kept the plain white background and just featured my reinderr in the centre.

The next card is for Jingle Belles where they want a creature.

Girlz creative craft and Scribbles Designs.

I've created a Christmas card for Girlz Creative craft ,which is a Dutch challenge site.

I foind a scrap of cream lace plus a cream and gold ribbon. They both contrast nicely with the background paper. Hope you like it!

Stay safe in this crazy COVID 19 time.

My next card is for Scribbles Design where they want a critter.

Again I made a Christmas card featuring Santa Claus in a strip from Darkroom Door.

The folied paper in the background is red, not black as it appears on here.

My critter is the horse that Santa is riding in the second picture.

Little red wagon and Case this sketch

I've made a bright birthday card this morning for Little Red Wagon.

The challenge is anything with the letter B. I think mine is obvious!

My next card is for Case this sketch.

I had this large rainbow in my kit so used it on this card.

Colour Throwdown

I've made a card this morning for Colour Throwdown

These are the colours

Using Kraft as my background I found plain and gingham cranberry papers which I layered. I added a cream strip along the plain cranberry.

In my Counterfeit kit were a set of small framed labels so I used a rectangular one on the card plus the sentiment. This card will go into my general cards box and maybe would suit a job promotion or exam results.

While I had the Kraft cardstock out I made this layout for Mystical Scrapbooking. We had a sketch plus had to use something that shimmers.

That striped paper nearly drove me crosseyed. I had fun gluing the coiled twine and adding the rhinestones and water droplets. This was at a local cafe known as the boatshed.
