Lasting Memories

Lasting Memories has a new challenge for May.

LM #496 - 3 Things -
Polka dot/dotted patterned paper
flowers (can be a paper or an embellishment)
stickers

I started with 2 brown papers from my Counterfeit kit. One has white polkadots.
My 3 photos were matted then added on to the polkadot background.
The alphas in my title are chipboard stickers.
For the flowers the paper on the background has small flowers but I also added a gold flower sticker plus on the journalling card there is one.

International scrapbooking day

For ISD Counterfeit kit have a mood board challenge

WE are asked to choose one themed paper plus some embellishments and make a challenge for a layout.

I looked through my multi coloured papers and found this.
It is Crate Paper "Confetti"

Next I looked at Pinterest for a layout using this paper.
The only one I found was this
I don't have a machine to do cut files so that is out of the picture.
Next I found this layout.

My challenge is to scraplift it.

My mini kit now looks like this

So armed with brads plus papers ,I started the process.
First I dribbled some red mist bottom left.
I adhered my 5 scrap pieces of paper then sewed them on my machine.
I mounted my photo on shiny red cardstock and adhered it.
I added the brads in same positions as the original layout.
The star stamps are slightly larger but still work. My title is gold alphas.

Scrap the boys

This month the challenge at Scrap the Boys is Baby it's hot outside.
It immediately made me think of my cousins 3 grandkids including her grandson , Harry.
They were walking along a beach mid summer and had forgotten to wear their costumes. As there weren't many people around, they did "A nudie run" and swam naked.

For my layout I have used Theresa Collins Far and Away paper.

I splashed some blue mist around first, then used my sewing machine to create more interest on the background.
I've used 2 flairs, plus a wood veneer camera.
The large butterfly is from Dusty Attic.  I split into 3 then misted each layer then glued back together.

AS it is International Scrapbooking Day I decided to get a few challenges done. This is the first one.

May Counterfeit Kit

Our Oh Happy Day collection is filled with flowers, sunshine, and happiness.
https://www.clubechopark.com/current-kit.html
This is the kit that has been chosen for May.

The papers are like this

So I went searching. I seldom buy florals but found a few items.

I've gone a different colour option...

Here's my kit named after a favourite drink

"Lemon, lime and bitters"

The papers on their own feature florals. I included citrus paper and a pineapple one as well.
There are some 6x6 papers as well

My embellishments are light on this month as I realised I can add what I need at the time.
Looking at the first picture you will see lace daisies, ric-rac, floral washi, cream ribbon, lime buttons plus some hexagon stickers. I added a few gold sparkly stickers I had left too.

My alphas are from American Crafts. I chose a neutral black and white set.

I also have brown and a yellow set from last month.

Our May Guest Designer is Ashley, one of those who submitted for our last DT call. She is found at https://marklandandmain.blogspot.com/

Here's our blog hop

That's all for now, happy scrapping!

Archiscraps and Ike's world.

AS well as being on 3 design teams I also own a challenge blog, named Archiscraps.
https://archiscraps.blogspot.com

This month the challenge is based around this building

Our challenge is to use brown and cream with ecru lace.
I've made a layout to be an example on there but thought I would put it on my blog here as well.
That's Mum on the right. She met this couple while on her honeymoon. Dad was obviously taking the photo.

It is also using 2 papers from my May Counterfeit kit. (I started early.)
                                                  **********************
At Ike's world I discovered they had a paper piecing challenge

Because of Covid 19, I have given up making Mother's day cards for now, so starting on other cards.

I made a male birthday card with Happy birthday sentiment.
I paper pieced 5cm squares on my card in tones of brown then mounted my sentiment on corrugated cardboard.

Lasting Memories Rain

The last word for the month of April at Lasting memories is Rain.
I've had 2 photos from the bushfires earlier this year I want to scrap and put in my daughter's album. She was driving through thick smoke to work one morning and took these photos.

R= rust colour, Rosie's studio glitter foam alphabet.

A=alphas, ash (in the smoke)

I=inking around edge of papers

N=nightmare

It isn't a pretty layout by any means but it documents the event.
I might add I don't like these alphas much as the font is rather weird. I'm not even sure those are R but they were next to the S so they must be. The T is too big !

My journal hexagons and flag shape at the top are in bushfire colours too.

Tuesday Taggers and Moving along

At Tuesday taggers the challenge is to use stencils.
My background cardstock is a lavender blue.

I started with a spotted mask or stencil from Kaisercraft and used purple mist to create my background.
Next, I added a relief canvas dress stand which I misted in red.
I outlined the dress shape in black to make it stand out more

My sentiment says Well done, so this could be a thank you card or a congratulatory card for a woman.

                                                               ***********************

At Moving along with the times they want diamantes
I made a thank you card by fussy cutting around a picture of a bucket of flowers.
I added some blue rhinestones around the bottom of the bucket.
For a Thank You card, I didn't want it too tizzy.
