ARTastic challenge.

The challenge this month at ARTastic is pets. It is based around this painting.



Meet our cat Tuppence who died at age 17 in 2008.

Being a tortoiseshell she had a quirky personality.(Don't they all?)

She provided us with many amusing moments.

My layout is based on one game she played with me in particular. 

When my back was turned or I was in another room she would climb up on the dining room table and stretch out. The unique bends and twists she performed amused me.

I made my photo black and white because she clashed with the colourscheme. LOL

I used texture paste with a mask to create the chevrons then echoed them with some chipboard chevrons I had. I added 2 flairs and some other embellishments plus a rub-on hand pointing to her in the photo. I hope you like my layout.

Colour Dare challenge. #336

At colour dare this is their latest palette.
I started with a tiny floral with mainly new England ivy shades of green then followed with a dtrip of fern.
I punched and assembled tiny flowers in blues and greens.
My sentiment is neutral.

That means I have gone across the top row.

Watercooler Wednesday/brown sugar

At Watercooler Wednesday they have a special occasions challenge.

I've created this card using washi tape in short strips with a camera picture over the top.

I've used this design before and it seems to work!

My sentiment could refer to birthday, wedding, anniversary etc.

At Brown sugar they want transportation. I had this strip of hot air balloons so created a card from it.
I added the strip down the left hand side to add more colour to the card.

Scrap our stash challenge

We are asked to create a layout using either the left or the right side page of the sketch.
I've chosen the left.

My 2 portrait photos go side by side, I did not have another small one.
I used the black white and gold striped washi across the top plus a small piece of the green and white spotted tape.

From this month's kit leftovers I used the black lace, the cork strip, the scalloped blue strip, plus black and white paper strip and the button saying family top left.

I've used various shades of green as per the photos.

Tuesday Morning sketches and Cardz4guyz

At Tuesday Morning sketches

This sketch inspired me to use more orange scraps, plus cut a circle from a rectangular tag I was sent.
The leaves and puffy hedgehog are from a set of puffy stickers I had.

Also at Cardz4guyz they are having a "Let's get messy" challenge.
I decided to use some inks and masks.
First I used cyan ink through a spot mask and created a polkadot background.
After that dried, I chose another star mask and used "black soot" distress ink with stars to add an extra layer.
Finally, I added the number 12 as my card is for a 12 year old boy.
The background colour is apricot, not pink as it appears.

Crafting by design

At crafting by design they want flowers.
This gave me an opportunity to use up some more little bits from my Counterfeit kit.
The sentiment, the brown and white border strips and the puffy stickers flowers are all from my Counterfeit kit.

This is quite a pretty card and I think I will put it in the Mothers Day cards for now.

Unstampabelles 2nd entry & Use your stuff.

I'm entering at Unstampabelles again this month and this time I have used a staple or 2 actually.

The current card bases I'm using are apricot in colour so I brought out my orange scrap bag.
The side papers on this card reminded me of a giraffe.
I had a light bulb moment recalling that I had a chipboard giraffe in my stash.
I've made a birthday card for a 5 year old, boy or girl.
The number 5 is stapled on top and bottom.

I inked the body with pinecone and used gold gel pen for the spots

I've made a fathers day or male birthday card using strips of washi tape diagonally.
