Let's scrap

Here is this month's lets scrap sketch.
I've decided to use the left hand side page buy slightly changed it as I used 3 portrait photos.

I had a challenge on Paper Issues to use 2 things that rhyme on a layout eg bold and cold or punch and lunch.
I wanted to do these photos from the Empire State building so chose tower and flower.
This explains how this layout grew.
I used vellum as my strip across the centre.(the one in my kit with the curves)
I edged it with zigzag washi tape.
Next I double matted the main photo, the second mat featured stars which matches the yellow on the vellum. I placed this photo on my page and did my 3 button flags at the top.(Used scraps from my kit)
The other 2 photos were too tall to mat so they went directly on to the page.
My title and subtitle also came from my kit.
The background paper is from the recollections range and is named Blue marble.

Next another layout for Paper Issues where we are asked to repeat a shape.

Again I used 3 photos. This time it was the flat iron building in New York.
I layer matted my main photo using vellum, kraft and a pink motif.
The 2 border strips are from my kit.
I'm finishing up the red letters so can only spell flat. The iron part I write myself.

I punched flowers from navy cardstock and scattered them on my page. Nice contrast I thought.

Paper Issues cyber crop sketch

This is the sketch for the current cyber crop challenge at Paper Issues on Facebook.

I chose to use my 2 photos from Green Gables. We met Anne and drank Raspberry cordial.

All the items on here are from this month's Counterfeit Kit.
The background is the other window page in my kit. Again I covered it up.

Alphabet challenge

Over at the alphabet challenge Q is for quad.
This means we must use 4 of something on a card.

I found 4 stars which I have put on my tag on this card.
We could play the game like on Sesame Street and say "One of these things is not like the others". Can you spot it?
Despite this, there are still 4 stars (my last stars)

Daring cardmakers

At Daring Cardmakers we are asked to choose 3 items from this mood board to create a card.

I've chosen the mini envelope, twine and gold washi tape.
My sentiment is also white writing on black so that could be a 4th.

Cardz4guyz

At Cardz4guyz they want winter blues.
I found a picture of Father Christmas walking through the snow so built my card around that.

The letters down the left hand side tell you who the card is for They are from this month's Counterfeit kit.

4 crafty chicks and C.R.A.F.T challenge

At 4 crafty chicks they want Christmas treats.
I still have some felt gingerbread men left so have used one on this card.

I kept it fairly simple because I noticed that my customers like them not too tizzy!
                                     *****************************************

At CRAFT challenge they say Christmas presents.

This cute elf looks like he is carrying gifts for the whole neighbourhood!
Hope you like my cards!

D-lish scraps challenge

The theme and sketch for D-lish scraps is this.
It makes a good change to use pinks and purples with a touch of navy on my layout.

The word "nights" led me to 2 photos from my birthday, while I was in Canada. The first is a bit blurry but was taken in the hotel foyer and the second was at dinner that night.

I used lots of small offcuts of paper I owned, including one with a mosaic pattern.
The 2 flowers and the wood veneer butterfly are from D-lish.
The bling hearts might be D-lish, they were in a tiny unmarked packet.
The banner and dreams do come true are from my CKC kit.

Here is my layout. I photographed it outside because it blurred in the scanner.
It is a little bit yellow looking but not in real life.
