As you like it challenge.

For As you like it challenge I had a chipboard snake I wanted to
use so decided to find good qualities of snakes by looking at the
Chinese Horoscope.

Snake - Personality and Characteristics

Snake

Wise, Humorous, Brilliant

Snake is usually regarded as a dark, insidious, sly and ruthless being. Both in western countries and China, there are many legend stories about the animal. And most of the time, it is labeled with a dark image. Actually, the animal is also the symbol of wisdom. People born in the Year of the Snake according to Chinese zodiac are usually well-educated, decent, smart and humorous. They can be brilliant artists, political leaders, as well as great thinkers, such as Gandhi, Goethe, Kennedy, and Picasso.

Were you born in the year of the snake?
(1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013).

In summary they have pretty scales quite often and many people keep them as pets or are fascinated by them.

4 crafty chicks

http://4craftychicks.blogspot.com.au/  wants us to celebrate women
As Mothers Day is coming up the solution is obvious.

My sentiment says something to make you smile MUM

FOTF = Forgeries on the fourth.

For Forgeries on the fourth this month I have decided to make cats.
I spotted a cat face in this picture of the original kit.(bottom right)

So my next step was Pinterest where I found a few ideas

I also found one I can use as an outline.
I traced around it then used it on this layout for Paper Issues.

The scrap room jump start sketch

Here is the May jump starter sketch at THE SCRAPROOM
I'm dipping into my Counterfeit Kit and using a paper from imaginisce, that I bought in a fit of madness.
It featured princesses and frogs. I painted over a large part of it so it wasn't as obvious.

I used 2 of 6x6 papers across the middle, a doiley at the top left.
As my big embellishment, I used a beach bag. There are also flowers down the right side.
It was a good jump start layout.

MAY Counterfeit Kit

The original kit is from Mind the scrap and looks like this on first glance.

Part of it is mixed media so I will add those components as needed.
I made a list based on these 2 photos.

black
white
pink with small circles
turquoise figured print
black and white stripes with round pink flowers.
Gold lettering
hearts
mini phrases
cats
light bulbs
bunches of flowers
sequins

Leslie later showed us separate photos and the kit changed.

Welcome to my rather small kit (by my standards) PINK Rogue
Here's my papers.
There are black and white cardstock on top left plus one sheet of turquoise, the remainder is pink tones. Some vellum is there top right.
(Yes, I've gone slightly rogue)

The bottom row is 8x8 papers.
I also included some 6x6 papers I found.
These reminded me of the black and white striped paper with the pink bunches of flowers in the original kit.

My alphas are silver and black as I didn't have any gold.

My embellishments are mainly pink tones.

I've given a nod to the cats and dogs with my snake, elephant, wolf and owl.
There might be some cats and light bulbs appearing later.
There are lots of hearts, flowers and words.
I've added heaps of pink toned tags and embroidery cotton in pink, blue and black.
I also found a packet of silver and gold frames.

My main aim with scrapbooking now is to USE WHAT I HAVE.
I have done this on this kit as nothing new was bought.

Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues.

This is the current weeks layout to scraplift.

I started with a grey background then used a shaped paper from MME quite contrary range.
After mounting my koala photo on vellum I added a flourish with a bling swirl and several strips of paper, ribbon and stickers. The tag was already made so as it went with the layout, I added it.

My wood veneer owl is hard to see so I used an arrow to point yo him.
This is a great design for using up scraps.

I'm also entering this in scrapping4fun challenges where anything goes.

Case this sketch.

Case this sketch  has this sketch.

Here's my card. I had the basic idea, but once I added the sentiment, it needed those enamel dots.
It was definitely inspired by the sketch.
