Kraft + challenge

As you can see the challenge at Kraft plus this month is to use houndstooth, plus the sketch.
Luckily I had a strip of houndstooth patterned paper.

I started by using black gesso through an old lace plastic doiley.
This formed the vertical background.
Next I stamped using black ink and a memories stamp randomly.

The photos are from proofs of an old photo shoot we did.
I've chosen the complimentary colours of yellow and purple on this so there are yellow buttons(and a gold arrow) plus purple butterflies and flower.
The scrolls and dots that appear black are actually silver.
It is quite a pretty layout in real life.

Freshly Made sketches & Shopping our stash

This is the sketch at Freshly Made sketches. for #226
As my papers this month are purple, I decided to use the co-ordinating chipboard with one of the "busier" papers featuring a rock singer.
My sentiment says "Let's party" and the silver flower and flourish add glamour!

I'm also entering this at http://shoppingourstash.blogspot.com.au/ where the challenge s to not use white paper.

Perfect for a teenage girl, don't you think?

Show us your stuff

This month at Show us your stuff they are using a sketch challenge.

We, of course, are asked to add a handmade item.
The arrow from Pink Paislee Cedar Lane collection would have to have been handmade as I can't imagine a machine tying string around a toothpick. However, I have also cut around  the vellum flowers as I don't own any punches. They were traced from a punched flower I had.

I've used strips cut from the bottom of patterned papers as my background.
I misted those with Kaisercraft's  pink irradescent shimmer mist.
Instead of a 2nd photo, I used a tag I made with a rub on.
I've also added Studio calico cameras and Kaiser brads.

I do love camellias. They are such delicate flowers.

March Counterfeit Kit

The kit this month is from Ali Edwards.

For my collection I listed the following:
cameras
snap
green, orange,white
123
arrows
pie charts
spots and stripes
squares
stamp with photos, camera, click, memory.

I haven't named my kit this month.

Here are my Counterfeit kit papers.
As you will see there are quite a few purple/mauve papers there.
It all started with those 2 EK success squared papers.
They reminded me of the original kit, so I went from there.
I have NO ORANGE papers so substituted the other secondary colour, purple.

Most of these are cheaper ranges of paper with the exception of 2 of the green ones which are Ruby Rockit and Cosmo Cricket.(3 and 4 from top left).

Next, my embellishments
You can see there are cameras(chipboard & wood veneer), numbers, circles with spots, hearts.
(A nod to the original kit)
Also, there are other items such as ribbons, lace doileys, chipboard words etc that I would like to use.
At the last minute I've added silver doileys as well because silver & purple go well together.

Next are my alphas

Now here is the order of the blog hop

Last hurrah for February kit.

Over at Mystical scrapbooks they had a cybercrop.
I managed to do one layout using the very last pieces of my Counterfeit Kit add on.

The challenge was to use one photo ,7 strips of paper and an 8 word title.
I've used up the chipboard corners, button and pennants plus offcuts of papers.
My white mat is a package from gold letters I used earlier this month.

Tuesday Taggers

The current challenge at Tuesday Taggers (http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com.au/) is Transport.
I made a mixed media tag.
The chevron arrow is gesso. I dropped mist on to the tag.
I stamped clock faces, adhered a balloon picture and a scrap of border strip for balance.
This will be used on a future layout.

Use your stuff

The challenge at Use your stuff this week is a layout with more than one photo.
This is on white cardstock background.
