Challenge #2 It's all relative.

Our family has always thought Mum looks like the queen.
The only one who can't see the resemblance is her.
Though she is 7 years older she is very similar in hairstyle, dress and general appearance.
In this photo of her 21st(in 1939),I think she looks particularly regal.
I downloaded a picture of the queen and cut around it.I added pearl flourishes and embellishments and used Mum's favourite colour-blue.

(Yes, the ribbon and lace does run downhill! It was based on a sketch that did that.
I tried several times to stitch without the shadow on the left but those fabric brads are too high to flatten it any further.)

I've included 2 more photos of Mum below so you can see it is not "a one off"All she needed on that picnic rug was a corgi to make it complete.

Use your stuff and Christmas Card challenges.

I'd swear that the team at Use your stuff are peeping in my window sometimes.
The challenge there this week is to use old alphas.
They seem to predict my every move!
This morning I used up some small alphas (orange) by pasting them on a tag then painting it white.
I've added a 3D gingerbread cookie sticker to make it Christmassy.
The cookie man is holding up a sign saying "Got milk"
Also at Christmas card challenges the theme is anything goes so I'm linking up there as well.

Jingle Belles and Mojo Monday #423

At Jingle Belles we are asked to use food related to Christmas.
I have some foam shapes including pudding.
I mounted the pudding on a background saying "pudding" with a foam sentiment underneath.
Hope you like it!

This time I've made another Christmas card.

and here is their sketch.

ABC challenge U for Unlimited

Here's a quick card I made using 2 stickers from my Counterfeit Kit, that I'm entering at THE ABC challenge.
I like the simplicity.
Being a men's card it will come in handy.

Let's scrap

Here is the double layout sketch at Let's scrap.
We are also required to use stamps and a song title.

Here is my first page
and my second
and the 2 layouts stitched together

I've chosen pink tones to contrast with the photos then added touches of grey as my secondary colour.
I only had 3 photos.
I've stamped clouds in the background and the title is based on the old song "Stormy weather"
by Lena Horne.

Our Beautiful world

I tend to forget about this site until I see it in my blog feed.
This week's word is Space. I don't have any photos of outer space but went searching through my recent holiday pictures from Northern Territory.
This was in the hotel in Darwin.
Talk about High Anxiety!

A Mystical blind scrapping layout.

http://mysticalscrapbooks.blogspot.com.au/2015/11/november-challenge-1.html

Follow this link to Mystical Scrapbooking's blind challenge for November.
I've used my Counterfeit Kit items and substituted the heart with a fox.
The photo is of the Arnhem land escarpment which I flew over in a small plane.

I'm grateful to Donna because she has sponsored Archiscraps a few times this year.
