CAS(E) this sketch #120

Using the other half of the Tim Holtz kraft card, I decided to go mixed media.
Here's my card.
The giant bird tail almost passes for a branch of a tree.
The background was misted, then gesso applied through a chicken wire mask.
The chipboard parrot was chalked using 3 colours, then outlines done with a black pen.
The sentiment says hello, but I will add a name before using it.

And another reminder to leave a comment on my 2000th post here http://julenebydesign.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/my-scrapbooking-crush-and-magic-2000.html

The prize looks like this and I'm adding something new every day.

Feeling sketchy #119 and a reminder

Don't forget to leave a comment on this 2000th post to be in the running for my mystery prize http://julenebydesign.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/my-scrapbooking-crush-and-magic-2000.html

It is growing every day.

The above sketch at Feeling Sketchy prompted me to turn a disaster, I recently had, into a card.

Using Kraft cardstock by Tim Holtz (which isn't cheap) I upturned a dried out (I thought) bottle of glimmer mist.
You know what happened, don't you? It ran everywhere!

After cleaning up, I cut the cardstock to the size of 2 cards.
This is the first.
By putting the centrepiece to one side (Does that make sense?) I was able to make a feature of my blob, plus use one of the other papers the glimmer mist ran on.
I had 2 brads which matched the same forest green card, so have made a mother's day card.

Very arty!

CSI #162

Over at CSI this is the most recent case.

I've started with a black background, then found an EK success paper featuring 3 of the colours and circles.
I adhered that to the back of ready made circle stickers then cut them out.
After locating the photo of my daughter in Disneyland from 1997, I matted that on yellow and put it to the side. I've used a transparent mini pocket for my journaling, featuring one of many felt stars I used.
My title is a "mental note to self" written with humour. The NEVER tag is my answer.

I've used up the last of the black cardstock from my Counterfeit Kit plus the mini pocket on here.
Wherever you see cream it is bright yellow in reality.

Stuck?! sketches part 2.

Laura Whitaker's photo.

Still on the ANZAC DAY theme, I've used this sketch from Stuck?! to create a 2nd layout using that Anzac paper.

Both photos were taken at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.

And here is the double layout. Some items are common to both.

Lest we forget at Let's capture our memories.

Let's capture our memories

Here's the sketch which I flipped, putting the photo more on the right.
A few years ago I bought Anzac Day paper in a throw out bin at Spotlight.
I thought I'd use it for scraps.

However with the ANZAC centenary coming up, plus a recent visit to The Australian War Memorial in Canberra, I felt inspired.
I've 2 sheets of this paper, so there may be another layout to make this part of a double.

I hand embroidered the title.
I made the red felt/tulle flower
The hessian is recycled,as are the buttons and buckle.

Curtain call and Shopping our stash and Papertake weekly

Here is Curtain call challenge
This picture inspired me to make this thank you card.
The roses are Kaisercraft, actually I think the background green paper is too.

Next, I've made a card using my cuttlebug and my oldest embossing folder-swiss dots.
I inked over the embossed paper in gold but it was more an ochre yellow colour.
This is for Shopping our stash

Another card I've made is for Papertake weekly.
Once again, I used the same background card and have used washi tape, a gift tag and 2 buttons.
Hope you like it!

And a reminder to add your comment to my 2000th post below to qualify for a mystery prize.
