Sea themed challenge at Archiscraps.

This is the stimulus building for Archiscraps http://archiscraps.blogspot.com.au/

We are asking for a sea themed layout (or card). There is just under 2 weeks to go and we would love to see your entries. There is also a great prize of 20 sheets of Christmas paper plus embellishments to win. What are you waiting for????

Jennifer Grace creates -Adding sparkle.

After making this journal at the Gundy Spectacular, I've decided to attempt another glittery chipboard project.
Now the perfect photo.....
The David Jones windows.......Every year in Sydney,one of the big department stores decorate their windows with cute figures




When I saw this one, my layout idea started to form.
I have a MEMORY MAZE CHIPBOARD ladder which also has baskets.That made me think of trimming a tree. I misted it with brown.
On the same sheet were several sparkly shapes . I used glitter on those in red.
There was a tiny branch and 3 eggs left over so I glittered those.

Next I found the WEBSTER pages Christmas tree paper that I've been hoarding.
I've added the sparkly things on the tree to look like decorations and around the photo.
Adding the title and journaling and it is done!

The scanner strobed the photo slightly but you get the idea.
I've layered the red sparkly chipboard on the baskets.

Card Makin' Mamas say thank you.

Card Makin' Mamas are asking for Thank you cards.
I used some bright spotty paper with hot pink washi tape through a lime green spotted belt buckle.
To finish it off I've used a chalkboard Thank You tag.
It makes a nice contrast to all those bright colours.

Color throwdown #268

This bright colour scheme inspired me to create a birthday card.
There's 3 coming up in January.

 

The rhinestones are lime. For some reason  the photo looks bluish.

Flourish with a bling challenge

The challenge at Flourish with a bling this month is doors or windows.
After checking my chipboard, the closest I could find is this WOW chipboard gate, but we could pretend it is a fancy door.
I painted it using Li'l Davis Metallic shades paint in sweet pea.
Next, I found the smaller flowers from Bumble bee crafts.
I made the 2 larger flowers from scraps of Chinese silk, singed around the edges then added a fancy brad.
I've added a tag on which I will journal later.
The Flourish with a bling I used is Jasmine ,purple and cut in half.

Scrapfriends sketch challenge

I took one look at this and thought the 70's ...hippies, pop festivals, peace etc.
As I wasn't a hippy then I tried to channel my inner hippy and produce it in the trims.

The Bella spotted "Kinda Crafty' was a good start.
At the top I've used a paper I created myself using ink through a chevron mask inside the d/s tape roll. It made perfect circles.
The next item was the fringed upholstery braid....so 70's in style.
The feathers and skeleton leaves also hark back to that era.
The flair buttons are from D-LISH scraps. The brown/fawn mat for my photo is actually the packaging from the skeleton leaves (Little Birdie).
The quote in the centre top says "Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love. The things you are, the things you never want to lose"
I've also dribbled a little Tattered angels mist in the gaps.
I was about 25 in that photo.

I tried layering all my matting around the photo first.
