I too thought of the ocean but mine was at Cape Leuuwin lighthouse, where the southern and Indian oceans meet.
I've used a mauve shimmery cardstock (Which the scanner doesn't like).
I've used black paper and another paper which had words on it such as water's edge, ocean, sunset, etc.
Across the bottom I have used twine with 2 Francheville metal elements of a seahorse and fish.
The twine frayed as I threaded it on, but it gives it a rough "ocean-like" appearance.
I've also looped twine around one of 3 flair buttons from D-LISH SCRAPS. The flag and pearl pin are also D-LISH.
The bottom gold rub on is from PINK PAISLEE and the before/after arrows are from HEIDI SWAP.
The top LHS flair button is yellow not lime green.
